I really liked the layout of the building. Gave me a pirate feeling. I really enjoyed the ice drink that the staff had offered. But I was pretty shocked at the cost of the two ice drinks, beer and wedges was. Pretty pricey I'm sad to say hence the 4/5 stars. But lovely place.
The waitress berated my 5yo daughter for asking her for a pencil sharpener, and told her she wasn't a slave. We'll not be back. The food and drinks were okay, and the location / view were great.
A little rough around the edges but this captures the wharf side existence of the cafe. Absolutely authentic. Coffees were tops and the bowl of chips was huge and cooked to perfection. A definite visit when we're next in New Plymouth.
Maybe it is our timing, but our visits here are always a peaceful getaway. The food is excellent and the service is friendly. Great location by the port.
Worst meal have had. Gurnard was rotten , could smell it before it left the kitchen. Then the owner/chef argued that it was fresh. Place needed a deep clean. Never will go back
