This place is so awesome. My friend and I go there instead of other nearby places. Absolutely no problem with others but you can’t beat the food, coffee and atmosphere. Their biggest asset is their service as far as we are concerned. Always friendly, polite no matter how busy they are. This was topped yesterday when , busy as , few tables available but one had not long been vacated when a teen aged male got a cloth etc and , without being asked, came and cleaned down our table. What makes it special was the fact he was with? family and it was his day off. He cleaned down another table as well, helping not only us but his colleagues. Totally admire his kindness. Brian
Sub standard customer service. Can only be honest in review. Dishes were moved to other tables by the customers. Tables not cleared and dirty, greasy. Young blond girl at counter is not customer centric and has a who cares attitude..not a big deal, just calling it out Shopped there 20 plus times over years.. won't be back.. :
The loyalty card gave us each a free birthday coffee, which we upgraded to a large for 90c. Hubby had a basket of hot chips with dips, and I had a lovely fudgey slice incorporated with pistachio and raspberries etc. The total bill came in at less than $15! We were stoked!Food: 5/5

Always great coffee and friendly service! We try to avoid the lunch rush though... Love sitting outside in the garden setting.
This would be one of few places in New Plymouth that offers #paleo #menu #choices. My #icecoffee was good too. I ate delicious soft shell tacos with prawns and salsa topped up with my coffee on the rocks. And it all turned into a perfect break between jobs. The place is great on a hot day because there's outdoor seating and a lot to look at.
Had awesome meal at the Columbus Coffee New Plymouth on my way to the airport. I got to the airport but had left my wallet behind, rang them up, ten minutes late..wallet back..she hand delivered it..awesome staff member way out of her way..awesome!!!
Asked for an iced coffee but got something resembling a warm milkshake. Feel like i wasted my money lovely place though, love the seating out in the gardening area.Food: 2/5

Normally I really enjoy the food here, but not so much today. We ordered ham and cheese omelette, but they had run out of ham so we had bacon as a substitute. Too much bacon for my liking. The ciabatta toast was spread with margarine and was very bitter. Columbus Cafe is a lovely place to visit, especially looking out over the Mitre 10 gardens.
