My wife and I were traveling on and APT tour of Africa and decided to go to Manningham travel clinic to get our immunisations. We were given one for yellow fever. When we got to Kenya the border control people requested our yellow fever card. We had not been given one by the clinic and we were then charged US$100 each to be able to proceed to be given a new one. Everyone else on the APT tour had been given the correct yellow card, we were the only ones who did not have one. It is very disappointing when you go to a practice that specialises in travel immunisation and they don't even give you the correct paperwork that you will need when you are traveling to a particular part of the world. It costs us a lot of time and money. I suggest you go somewhere else that is more professional.

I went here for my Dive medical with Dr Phillip M Susman who I found from SPUMS. The receptionists and nurses where very polite and friendly, I was seen immediately by the nurses. The hearing test machine was ancient and in a room where an abundance of background noise made it very very difficult to do. When I finally saw the doctor after a significant wait (appointment was at 3 - I was told half an hour for the nurses and then half an hour for the doctors, it was only at 4.30 I actually saw the doctor) I was confronted my a doctor who seemed to delight in the fact that he has already taken one Diving instructors livelihood away today. I am a diving instructor, and it felt almost as though he as showing off about this, mentioning it more than once. The medical itself was fine although I did feel very ill at ease. I was told to undress down to my underwear for part of it which I didn’t really understand the need for, he made some passive comments about how my reflexes weren’t normal (I’m not surprised considering how tense I was) and my hearing test was borderline. At the end of this he sat me down and gave me a patronising lecture about how Diving is dangerous and how it’s professionals like me who are more likely to die from negligence. As someone who makes a living from Scuba I found the whole experience very uncomfortable and the attitude of this doctor was frankly unbearable. I will not be recommending this doctor to any of my students. His comments throughout made him appear pumped up as though he enjoyed the power he had in being able to pass or fail someone. In the end this is a service. I am a customer. His attitude was very unprofessional and I will not be going here again.

My wife and I were really looking forward to our consultation with Dr Mary Walsh. It's a shame that we never got that far, due to two receptionists who are both completely useless. My wife was re-scheduled twice, the 2nd time she was scheduled on a public holiday (29/9). Today she received a phone message saying her appointment was cancelled, with no alternative date provided. I can't see any excuse for not being able to schedule correctly. Other practices do not have this problem. My wife and I will look for another place to go. I can no longer be bothered dealing with that kind of incompetence.

Trustworthy family doctors. I took my grandma to see Dr Lam for back pain, he was very patient and took his time to help her. She has always been worried about seeing doctors, but he made her feel at ease and he is now our family doctor.
