Used coins, yes more expensive than in bigger cities, but what do you expect in a town like Kalgoorlie. We were happy to see a car wash without signs of "no muddied vehicles or you get charged" like in most places around Australia.  4x4 wash bay is a nice idea. You don't need coins, instead they have a card with discounts when putting money on it. 
If we ever come back and need a car wash, this is were we would go.

Nice place but the auto wash needs to dry more and the manual wash areas needs more frequent cleaning as there is often mud mess left over after wash from mostly off road vehicles.

Avoid this place. The petrol station refused to give me coins for my cashout because the car wash wasn't part of their business. I used my credit card and my total was 10.00. I then checked my account anf saw that 22.00 was charged!! Very unhappy. Avoid this place unless you have the proper 2.00 coins.
