Macquarie University’s community facilities are fantastic for anyone looking to stay active. I use the pool almost daily, and I’m so impressed with the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall quality. The pricing is incredibly reasonable, especially for the standard provided. However, it can get quite busy at times, and the staff can be a bit slow during peak periods. Despite this, it’s a great space for the community, and I’m very happy overall. Highly recommend it to anyone in the area!
On Monday morning, my wife and I requested a make-up class for our child’. We were denied, citing the “three-day advance booking” policy. However, when we returned a few days later to try again, we were told the last spot had already been allocated through a voice message sent earlier. This contradicted the “first-come, first-served” rule we were previously informed about, leaving us confused and frustrated.nTo make matters worse, the day before, when my wife was at the center for our kids’ swimming session, she learned from a friend that her daughter had secured a spot in the Friday class—despite booking outside the three-day advance rule. When my wife immediately inquired about the same opportunity, she was denied, citing the very rule that had just been bypassed for another family. This inconsistency in enforcing policies is deeply unfair and unacceptable.nWhen we raised these issues, the staff member's behavior was shockingly unprofessional. He repeatedly interrupted us, dismissed our concerns, and provided vague and contradictory explanations. Instead of addressing the situation respectfully, he escalated it by threatening to call security when we calmly tried to reason with him.nLater that day, I returned alone to speak with the duty manager, Donna. However, they once again threatened to involve security instead of facilitating a resolution, demonstrating a complete lack of professionalism and customer care.nAs long-time members whose children have participated in your programs for the past four years, we expect fair treatment and professionalism. The staffs actions, along with the mismanagement of the make-up class bookings, reflect a disregard for basic customer service principles and have eroded our trust and confidence in your institution.nUntil these concerns are adequately addressed, we will remain dissatisfied and feel compelled to share this experience further to inform other members.
They nearly drowned my two year old son at his swimming lessons. If it was not for another mother running to side of pool, to fish him out. he would be dead. They understood the gravity of the situation, so much do, they encouraged me to leave. I should have sued!
entrance staff training are severely lacking, numerous occasions for my daughter swimming class and the front staff have no idea how to process Swim21 classes entrance fees, causing unexpected delays. Today, luckily I was here 15 mins early and I have to wait at the front for 10 mins because one staff members cannot take payment. If this is a commercially and professionally run operation, payment step up will be more efficient. Please it is not hard to have proper staff training.
Call me a frustrated parent, but this swim school is absolutely unscrupulous. They’re blatantly focused on squeezing out a long-term revenue stream instead of actually teaching kids to swim. Their disregard is shocking—they don’t even bother to assess kids every three months, which should be a basic responsibility. You’ve to beg and plead to get your child assessed. Raise a complaint, and they’ll turn on your child, failing them just to make a point. It’s disgraceful.
