Had a great afternoon just the other day up there it was a Sunday Session with live music in the beer garden with musician named Bec White, she was absolutely magnificent. The outdoor setting had great sound and we all sat around the table drinking beer I know they have a great dining area up there too. Either way the beer was cold and we had a top afternoon.
Beer is good and staff were great. Though the food was a let down. Chips were cold, veges were over cooked and tasteless. I ordered a med-rare scotch fillet steak and it was well done and tough.
One star for their sneaky pricing and absolute lack of customer care for not being clear up front when they charged this. Seriously charging $3 extra for mash and then another $3 extra for veg and to top it off they didn’t deduct the price of chips and salad I didn’t want from the meal? Ridiculous! No sign of extra charges on the menus and the staff couldn’t care less about not being clear and transparent. Instead the blame the ‘millionaires’ who own the place and - in their words ‘the millionaires who own the place wouldn’t care less about you as the customer’. Not going back again. Sneaky extras are not appropriate. I won’t be returning this is not a place that cares about their customers. Going 100% local from now on.
The culture of the staff here appears to be going downhill and the prices uphill. It used to be a very popular place to go but on a busy Saturday night it is only about 15% capacity. Seems everyone is voting with their feet.
We have eaten at the pub bistro nearly every night in the last 7 days . I can confirm that all the meals we had have been really nice . T. Bone steak, pork ribs, chicken Caesar salad, chicken wings, rump steak, creamy penne prawn pasta special, bruschetta, pizza etc pizza is 12” huge I could only eat 1/2 good idea to share . I can recommend the food, drink and staff were all gold
Understandable $15 specials not available on public holidays. Christmas and Boxing day are public holidays. Since when is the 27th a public holiday. Also note, when a customer is standing in front of the register, means theyre ready to order, doesn't mean you continue to talk amongst yourselves
Great place for a family. Rooms were clean and bed comfy. Breakfast was included in the price which was amazing. Welcome drink too. Will definitely visit again.
Great wine menu huge glasses available!, delicious pizzas and all around pub food. Kid friendly. We were travelling through Dubbo from interstate and were so happy with how no fuss this place was. Friendly staff, beautiful “ye old” dining area with cathedral ceilings and gorgeous open fireplace. Thank you : will be back again
Solid pub! Special mention to the blonde waitress, she was amazing! So kind and professional. Great pub food!
I am from Sydney and have been working in Dubbo for the last month.. I have eaten at every single pub and restaurant in town and hands down this is the best place for dinner!!! The RIB EYE ON THE BONE IS MOUTH WATERING!!! YOU CAN HAVE THE BEST STEAK BUT U NEED A TOP CHEF TO COOK IT RIGHT AND THE MAQ INN HAS THE BEST CHEF IN TOWN!!
