Now I'll start this by saying the pastries themselves are lovely I was excepting them to be warm though which they are not. The coffee was ok. They do offer cappuccinos but no flavored syrups. The service is fast and efficient. I'd recommend just getting take away because the vibe is really overwhelming. Kind of a get in get out motif. There are tables but absolutely no seating. You have to stand so it's not really worth staying because its so busy and you'll be in peoples way. There was a line to get in. The price is quite expensive for what it is too. I'd recommend the almond croissant and everything croissant. Also no gluten free options.
Lune, located in Melbourne, has earned an international reputation for its extraordinary croissants and pastries. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking the finest in baked goods. From the moment you step inside the sleek, minimalist space, you can feel the focus on craftsmanship. The open kitchen, designed like a laboratory, gives customers a clear view of the expert bakers at work, rolling dough and creating each pastry with precision.nnThe highlight of Lune is, undoubtedly, its croissants. These are not your everyday pastries; they are layers of golden, flaky perfection. Crispy on the outside, they melt in your mouth with a buttery softness that is simply unforgettable. Alongside the traditional croissants, Lune offers creative variations and seasonal specials, each one crafted with the same attention to detail.nnThough the queue can be long, especially on weekends, the wait is well worth it for those seeking an unforgettable pastry experience. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee and croissant to go or indulging in one of their more inventive offerings, Lune delivers an unparalleled bakery experience in Melbourne. It’s a place where passion for pastry is palpable in every bite.
Absolutely blown away by this place! The **great taste**nand quality of every dish are remarkable. Everything is incredibly fresh, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The presentation is nothing short of fancy—each dish looks like it belongs in a high-end restaurant, but with an inviting, relaxed vibe. The flavors? Simply out of this world! I tried their almond croissant and cheese tart, and both were exceptional. The croissant was flaky, buttery, and had just the right amount of sweetness, while the cheese tart was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. It’s no wonder people line up outside to get in. Whether it’s lunch, dinner, or a casual bite, there’s always a crowd, and for good reason. One visit and you’ll be hooked for life. If you’re looking for a place that delivers in both taste and experience, this is it. Can’t recommend it enough!
I was walking past and saw only a very small line on a Sunday afternoon. Wanted to check out what all the hype was about as every other time I’ve walked past there has been a massive line to get in. They basically sell coffee and croissants. The coffee was good and the croissant was very good as far as croissants go. Standing room only and it was very crowded. Free water, sparkling or filtered from a help yourself tap which was nice. Definitely 5 star rating but no way would I wait in a long queue or go out my way to go there. Also card only payment but they still charge a 1% surcharge why? If everyone has to pay by card why not include it in the price. It is also apparently a requirement to take photos of everything which made it easy to get photos for my google review.
Finally tried this famous croissant place, as it’s been on my list for some time. We were very fortunate and actually had no wait time like a lot of the comments suggest. We just walked right in. But I think we came at an odd time in the afternoon and it was also quite a cold and windy day, so maybe still prepare for some wait.nnWe tried the chai, a regular + ham/cheese croissant, and a lemon curd cronut.nnI would say everything was quite good, but I’m not sure I would wait long in a line for it. They definitely know what they’re doing, but I don’t feel like I can say it’s the best croissant I’ve ever had, or even top 3 to be honest.nnThat being said, still very good, and the people / vibe were great!
