Where to start? Everything that was put on the table was flawless. The crispy dumplings are to die for. The soft shell crabs are massive and the best we've had make sure you dig out the lime and squeeze it on top to cut the saltiness The rib while expensive was melt in the mouth. Only problem was that it was so busy that it was loud, but that's understandable considering how amazing the food is. If you want modern Chinese, this is the place to be. Best Chinese in Sydney.
They were busy Monday eve but managed to squeeze 4 of us in. Kitchen closed early but they did last call rounds. We had duck pancakes for starters. The duck was excellent but there was not enough of the greens for all the pancakes. The truffle spring rolls were tasty but small. We shared 3 mains also and were so full we had to share 1 dessert. The flat rice noodles dish was under seasoned and had better at our local cheap Thai. That said, the ribs were awesome and the unusual eggplant dish was a surprise, 3 of us really liked it. Total for dinner plus 4 mocktails was approx $250.00
We took the full menu and we let them take food tot he table. Everything was special, nicely cooked and beautifully served. The quantities are important so better to be prepared. I did not appreciate the dessert being considered an extra but i can definitely recommend the place. The service was great.
We really enjoyed our dinner in Lotus. Every dish was bursting with flavour! My favourite was the sashimi. Yum! This is closely followed by the beef short rib. We also enjoyed our cocktails and mocktails. The customer service is fantastic as well. It is very good food albeit a bit on the pricey side. We will be back!
Booked a table for 2 at 12pm on the 1st of Jan and the experience was fantastic. Great warm welcoming host, fantastic and attentive staff, and delicious looking and tasting food. The floor manager is helpful and all waiters that assisted us were vibrant, friendly and added to the experience. The vegetarian selection is incredible so we will always come back for more.
My partner and I ate at Lotus Barangaroo for Valentines Day and ordered the Valentines Day Banquet. $118 pp with a set menu and glass of NV Delamere Sparkling Rosé on arrival. The price is a bit steep but it’s Valentine’s Day and the set menu has 11 different meals in the banquet, well worth it if you ask me. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the location as well, Barangaroo is always a treat! Full reviews and thoughts are captioned on the photos so read on! The staff at this restaurant are so helpful and attentive to us while dining also, always taking the finished plates away in a timely manner and checking in with us on the meal making sure we were satisfied with our experience. I will definitely be back!
Beautiful dinning experience! Great presentations and delicious meal. Attentive staffs and nice ambience. Would love to try the other dishes next time ! Will definitely visit again .
Came here for celebrating Lunar New Year. We had a very good spot, even tho it was raining, there’s no problem because they provided the transparent blinds so we could still enjoy the view. The food was great. The squid ink dumpling was very interesting and tasty. Beef ribs was a good balanced with the sambal matah on the side. Also, the staff recommended us to add the seafood fried rice. Glad we ordered, it’s amazing. However, the rice noodles was a bit under taste for my liking. But overall it was good.
Really good views just outside the restaurant, they have heaters above the outdoor seating area. We got the $119 set course for the night, it was definitely enough food, but not sure if it was worth it xD Taste was kinda average for me tbh, the first sashimi dish was my favourite though! I forgot to take pictures of every dish but most are here : 10% surcharge for groups over 8 I think and we went on Saturday and it was quite busy and really loud there so if you wanted to have a nice quiet slow dinner then might have to think again!
Some of the food is quite good. The oysters were delicious. Sashimi was nice. The dumplings were way oversteamed and very soft and fell apart as soon as you touched them. The juice already burst out of the juicy shanghai dumplings which defeats the point of having them. The pippies were ok but I wouldn't order them again as we have had much better at other places such as xopp. Service was ok, some staff were friendly, others were not. But what I really didn't like was the tables are very small but all the food seems to come out in quick succession within minutes of each other so there's no where to put everything and we felt like we had to quickly eat everything. Basically we finished our meal in around 30mins. There should of been a bit of pacing between courses.
