Welcome to Little Savanna, one of life's little pleasures.

Story

Our journey is one of two cultures, whose passion for food is shared. Little Savanna is the bringing together of our cultures, where mouth-watering seasonal food has been engineered. We have a zest for fresh seafood and unashamedly love meat, particularly those cuts that are flame grilled, which sets us apart in the Manawatu. The finest and freshest of New Zealand’s ingredients are sourced and prepared for you here at Little Savanna.

For those of you who have South Africa on your bucket list, the Little Savanna experience will give you a taste of South Africa with the best of NZ service and produce. Catering not only for those of you who love meats and seafood, we are vegetarian friendly too and also have gluten free options.

It is our duty to make your experience with us an unforgettable one by providing you with the trifecta in dining – sumptuous, generous portions at great value with outstanding service, all in a wonderful setting.

Nice atmosphere, super friendly staff and managers, huge chips, and generous portion overall. My favorite is the ribs (dinner menu only). Their espetada is also unique. Clean toilets too. Easy to reserve a table too. You will get a confirmation email about your booking too, so it's very handy in case you forget the booking details.

10/10 The food and service at little savanna is amazing! Always happy staff who are more than willing to accommodate. My partner's parents made the booking all the way from Perth as a surprise for us and the owner was more than happy to help and even got a little Easter parcel made up for our little boy! Would highly recommend!

Awesome food, great atmosphere. Never have I finished a plate of food anywhere. But I finished everything on my plate food is fantastic. And the staff was excellent big thumbs up and I would definitely go back and with friends

Wow!! My partner and I are pretty jaded Aucklanders, and this place beats the pants of 99% of the restaurants here. Great atmosphere, even better food, and the best service (a huge shout out to our amazing server, Hana - you rock). Palmy should be proud that you have such an great place there.

I was really looking forward to going here, my partner and I have been wanting to go for a month or so, we finally had the money to celebrate our engagement so we thought we would try here, we didn’t think we needed to book and I guess that’s on us, however who ever it was that sat us in our seats repeatedly told us they were fully booked and made us so uncomfortable I couldn’t bare to stay there another minute and we left. Whoever you were, I suggest being nicer to your customers, we don’t care if your fully booked, if you’d going to seat us then shut up, if your not that’s fine. But don’t sit there bitching about it. Also I heard the same guy answer the phone and let out a huge whinge when it rang because he was clearly sick of answering it. Don’t like your job? Get a new one, plenty of people would kill to have a job. Long story short, we won’t bother coming here again which is a huge shame.
