Liberty Family Church is a community of people seeking to love God and love others.

Story

Liberty Family Church is - and always has been - a local church with a heart for our local community.

First meeting in 1984 as a life group of Life Ministry Centre, Chirnside Park, this group quickly grew. In 1986 the group began to meet weekly at Healesville High School under the name 'Christian Family Life Centre' with John Meadth as its Pastor.

Christian Family Life Centre became a member of Associated Christian Ministries - a denomination of over 60 charismatic Australian East Coast churches designed to encourage and support like-minded independent churches, pastors and church members.

The church continued to meet at Healesville High School until a shirt factory on the corner of McGrettons Rd and Lilydale Rd came up for sale in 1993. The church purchased the site and its members undertook extensive renovations to convert the building to the present-day church. The new church building was dedicated by Hal Oxley - founder of Life Ministry Centre and Oxley College - in 1993.

In recognition of the freedom that we as a church community experience in Christ, and our multi-generational makeup as a church family, in 2003 'Christian Family Life Centre' changed its name to 'Liberty Family Church'.

In 2011, after serving Liberty Family Church as Pastor for 26 years, John Meadth and his wife, Jocie Meadth, moved to Haiti to pastor Port Au Prince Fellowship. Since then, the Church has been served by a number of Pastors including Dave Hernandez, Neil Milton and Joel Hawting, all of whom have contributed significantly to the life of the Church.

As we move into our future, we seek to remain true to our beginnings: a local church passionate about loving our local community with God's love.
