There are many mouthwatering foods here
This used to be our favourite family restaurant, where we had many a lunch or dinner with family and friends when they came to visit. Staff were always friendly and related well to families. They had a great value lunch special with a lunch meal and wine for $10. However they have recently changed their menu and now only offer a smaller number of meals that do not meet our family needs. The menu has become a little fancier with less comfort or traditional meals. Very disappointing. Perhaps this is progress. Keen to see if they change the menu back.
Been going to Lianas for about 5 years and have always been greeted with incredible service and food that could be served to the queen. However, it no longer feels like the Lianas that my family know and love anymore. My partner and I went in today for dinner and we were met with underwhelming service. We were rushed to our seat and basically thrown a menu, then rushed to make a drink selection. After looking at the menu we realised it had been changed, which was pretty disappointing because the old menu was the reason we kept going back as well as the service. None of the items on the menu were recognisable at all and did not appeal to either of us. Hence we decided to leave and eat elsewhere and won’t be returning.
Over-priced and very ordinary - everything covered in sauce. King prawn cut down the centre, complete with head tail and legs and covered with sauce. When I asked the waitress who could not understand English how to eat it, she said she did not know and would talk to the chef. Didn't happen. Obviously not interested. Steak was cooked OK, but overall very poor for $45
Average food quality but expected from a restaurant with a large menu. Served a seafood pasta dish, when I ordered a vegetarian pasta. Took it back and removed some of the meat and served it again, still could see the seafood in it. Lucky I am not allergic
The service here is really below par. I asked for someone to take our order to be told 'we'll be with you shortly' only to have various waitresses walk past more interested in clearing tables than serving us. Then I had to ask again until someone finally took our order, the place was not even busy. Our pastas were overly salted, generic, and tasted like a share house meal. Ugh. We then sat with our finished plates for sometime while waitresses walked continually past ignoring us. When the plates were cleared we weren't even asked if we wanted desert. Which was a good thing because we didn't have until midnight! Would never eat here again. Too pricey as well.
Octopus babies, veal Diane as main and red wine, very disappointing... Octopus as starter was swimming in heaps of water, overcooked tomatoes and lemmon included. Veal was average, the creamy sauce was heavy, poor quality. Red wine in a small glass, too warm, all up I was here at summertime, bugger, no air con in the restaurant. Food and service was not even average, it was too expensive for the package. I thought I'm in a food corner of a shopping center. Big disappointment at Church Street!!!
We treated a friend to this place and their seafood was not fresh. You can actually taste that it's not fresh and the waiter told us their food is bought fresh everyday. Fresh my ass if your lobster tasted like it's been in the freezer for days.
Service was slow. S. L. O. W. My pizza was a dripping wet mess in the centre - crust was crispy, but I don't eat crust. My son's Steak and Chips included half a kilometre of thick cut chips and a 100 gram steak. I'm not going back.
Good service. Anti pasto was really good. Pasta was cooked well but the dish needed a little more flavour rigatoni bascaiola. The other people I dined with were happy with their meals except the vegetarian who found the Cauliflower dish bland. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu.
