We had an a lovely brunch at Levi. The menu nails the balance between comforting classics and elevated execution. Everything came out fresh and plated with care.nnThe poached eggs were textbook perfect — runny centers, sat neatly on thick-cut sourdough with crispy bacon and juicy mushrooms that had great umami depth. Their mushrooms deserve a special mention — beautifully seared, earthy, and tender.nnCoffee was strong and well-pulled, served in stylish navy ceramic that fit the calm but buzzing vibe of the venue.nnService was friendly without fuss, and the whole place just runs like a well-oiled machine. Levi is one of those spots that reminds you why Melbourne does brunch better than anywhere else. They did like to push you out though as soon as we finished our meals. The server was kind enough to give us 30 minutes after telling us to leave - in a loving manner of course
Today we had breakfast here, and it was so bad I was shocked. The chicken toast smelled awful, like they had boiled it with nothing to get rid of the smell. We also asked for pancakes, but they didn’t have any. Instead, they offered us something ‘similar,’ which was terrible too. Also, if you plan to go there to catch up with friends, just know they have some kind of time limit they asked us to leave because they had a reservation for our table. I definitely won’t go back again.
A spacious venue, where lunch was lactose free cappuccino, Greens Bowl and Smoothie. Coming back for breakfast asap… I visited on Tuesday; Sundays are frighteningly busy around lunchtime… But ta da - breakfast started with a large cappuccino, moved on to fruit toast and was about to end with granola… but that was washed down with a second cap.
Lively, cafe in what seems to be an old garage or warehouse. Came on a busy Saturday around 10/11am. Staff were under the pump but remained friendly and service was quick. It’s a loud venue, given the design of the space, so was sometimes difficult to have a proper conversation. This might’ve been due to us being near a large group but we appreciated not having to wait to be seated. Whilst I love when cafes offer scrambled tofu for us non-egg eating folks who want a savoury breakfast, this one could’ve used a little more flavour. The texture was great and the side of mushrooms and spinach was seasoned perfectly. Coffee was amazing! My dining partner said the pork belly was great.
The quality of food at Levi Cafe is great overall. The Turkish eggs and banana bread were standouts—absolutely delicious and well-balanced in flavour. The coffee was also solid and made well.nnHowever, I was a bit disappointed with my own breakfast. I ordered eggs with a side of bacon and a hash brown. For $7, I expected more than just two small pieces of bacon—it felt a little overpriced for what was served.nnWe spent $86 for two mains, banana bread, and two coffees, so it’s definitely on the pricier side for a casual breakfast.nnOne thing to note: the menu leans more toward creative or alternative options, which might not suit everyone’s breakfast cravings. For example, I was hoping for a classic bacon Benedict, but they only had a beef brisket version. Their chilli scramble is served with pork belly, which is a bold choice for breakfast but not quite what I was after that day.nnIf you’re after a more classic or mainstream brunch menu, just be prepared for a bit of a twist on the usual options. But if you enjoy something a little different and don’t mind spending a bit more, it’s worth a visit.
