Nice weekend shopping. Variety of things, new and used. Food stalls too. Indoor and outdoor markets. Plenty of parking in the market and next door. $5 car entry parking.
Your intentions really dictate if this is the market for you. Looking for quality hand made products? Keep driving. Looking for a pile of junk to go through and maybe find a gem? Perfect. Also handy for finding some really unusual items, if you're lucky. Check out this Young Talent Time vinyl! Ha! People watching is also a great reason to go to this market. It hasn't really changed much in 30 years.
Great place for weekend or Sunday lunch/brunch with wide variety of cuisines offered. Including snack and meals that are rarely available in the supermarkets. Cheaper place to buy your indoor and outdoor plants compared to Bunnings. A great place too to support our locals businesses. I do recommend coming in the morning. Recommend to bring cash but some shops including entry gate are eftpos capable. There’s also an ATM machine available inside for a fee.
For the size of the market, its pretty big but nothing exciting for me. I was expecting more but it's not busy at all, maybe because I was late Sunday 2+pm it's nothing compared to the sunday market in Camberwell also charge entry or Fitroy market free entry which is much smaller but sell more unique crafts and even second hand stuff! Needless to say, nothing compared to Queen Victoria Market. $5 parking for car to get into the market if you buy something bulky. Else, $2 for every entry. Something that's quite unique will be the stall that sells bags covered with animal fur.
It's a big market. Entrance fee is 2 dollars per person. Many shops have similar items for sale. The price is not much different from what can be bought everywhere. Came around 2 p.m. and many of the shops were already closed.
Nice place to stroll and look around. We love coming to Laverton market to see all the quirky items available. There are plenty of parking for free a short walk away, as well as pay parking just in front of the entrance. The entrance fee is $2 and they now accept card and cash payments. Make sure to bring cash as majority of stalls only accept cash. Inside there are regular stalls as well as ad hoc sellers bringing in items to sell for the weekend. It's nice to chat to the vendors as they are friendly. Yes you can haggle, but we don't as most items are already good value and we want to support the vendors. Here you can find a range of new and used items such as plants, garden tools, power tools, cooking equipment, clothes, shoes, fruit and veg, cleaning supplies, fabric, toys, china ware, and many more. We love coming here for the plants and succulent varieties as well as the food stalls. One of the Vietnamese food stand have delicious vegan noodle soup.
Back to visit after so many years! Entry $2 my daughter 12year old is free. Well looks the same. I think it needs to have all stalls line up nicely most of them stuff all on floor. Should have good or better things to sell in the market. I bet most of people come in the market for food Food area always full. Fruit and vegetables should have more stalls. car park need to fix!! I feel sorry for the oldies I just brought little thing from them I don't really need it but hot day today but they out here to sell whatever they can : Very expensive handbags $60 $55 woah! I can't get pretty one from kmart for $19 Laverton Market Used be Great in the past.
Don’t you hate it when your review gets lost before you’re finished!! Argh! Here’s V2.0 ;- We went to the Laverton Market today Saturday and it was hot at about 33C when we arrived there about 1030/11 this morning. This market has been well reviewed by others, I can recommend Sarah Sebli a professional reviewer here on Google Maps for example. This market is in and around two large warehouse sheds. Products mix new and used, professional, perm and casual boot sale style stalls. It’s not like Vic market, it’s more like Dandenong market. I’ve posted 20 or so photos from today starting with the free car park an open space just before the main entrance. Drive slowly on Leakes Rd to avoid missing the car park entrance, it’s just an empty block with lots of pot holes. Easy walk to the entrance and pay $2, coin or card from there. There is an ATM on site in the second of two large warehouse buildings from the entrance because sellers accept cash only. Products include household, decorative items, electrical power tools, clothing, toys, fruit and vegetables, gardening tools, plants, and food carts spread throughout the site. Stalls vary from permanent fixtures to tables and boot sales. I’ve posted over 20 photos from our visit today. The jam donuts were good but lots of other food choices are available from flavored shaved ice to Chinese style halal bbq skewers. Nice places are there to sit down and eat and enjoy your coffee. Friendly sellers, most were, but not always, it’s a pressure job and lifestyle I’m sure. Quite a multinational crowd of buyers and sellers, including Europe India subcontinent, Asia incl Mongolia and China, Australia and the Middle East and many others…too many to list! The jam donuts were delicious there’s snack food, gourmet tea and coffee and the usual food truck items. This market is a fairly basic yet wide offering, more like Dandenong market, and nothing like the Vic market. Enjoy your visit!
IT'S SO AMAZING MARKET THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN IN MY LIFE WHEN LIVING IN AUSTRALIA, ESPECIALLY IN MELBOURNE. I GOT THERE TOO EASY . BIG PARKING AND PARKING LIKE A PIECE OF CAKE! $2 FOR GET INSIDE THE MARKET. BUT IF YOU WANNA TAKE SOME STUFF OUT THEN BACK AGAIN, THEY WILL STAMP IN YOUR HAND. HEAPS OF VEGGIES AND FOOD HUGE MARKET. OPENS AT 7AM TO 4PM EVERY SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS. CHECK IT OUT.
Interesting market to visit, lots of goods, fruits, vegies, clothes and bits and pieces to choose from. Pay by cash only.. Also, ample of parking space available.
