Maternity Department We had the pleasure to experience our first birth in the Cairns Private Hospital. Personally I was into water birth and hypnobirthing, and I share those information with the professionals, they respect and support us completely in our birth preference. Our midwifes were Cath, Teresa, Alex and Roselyn, their commitment to excellence and professionalism has truly exceeded our expectations, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to learn so much with such dedicated individuals. Their unwavering dedication to respecting our wishes has not gone unnoticed, and it is clear that they have a true vocation for what they do. It is evident that for them, this is not just a job, but a passion that they take very seriously. We truly appreciate the time and effort that they have put into making sure that our needs were met, and that we received the highest level of service possible. Their attention to detail, follow-through, and willingness to go above and beyond have been truly remarkable, and we cannot thank you enough for your hard work. Once again, thank you for your exceptional service, and for making my experience with you a truly positive one.
If I could give 0 stars I would have lived in Cairns for 45yrs not sure who owns this hospital now but the care is 0 my mum just had a double mastectomy day 5 now still has not been bathed. She can not bath her self as she has drains everywhere. She was told to give herself a bird bath are they serious. Room has not been vacuumed in 5 days. Food is dreadful. My family an I have been taking meals up as there is not enough food. She is 82 when you are spending so much money on being here. How hard is it to bathe a patient, feed them, and clean. I had to ask them to clean mums room and to please wash her. They said they were busy. They was only 1 other person on the ward. But 4 sitting behind the desk when I requested they do their job. All the days my self and other family members have been there NO STAFF has ever come into her room. Doctor requested drains could come out after 2 hrs of being with mum know one took them out. Hopefully after my request to do their job, something has happened but now 4 hrs has gone by no bath still of drains out.
It is our second time in this hospital and we always unsatisfied. There is not enough staff, beds , equipment, specialist etc. Last night I had to bring my wife with 7 weeks pregnant with excessive bleeding, I have to be honest when saying the Doctors were very supportive unfortunately they do as much as they can. My wife was sent home with slightly pain with no success of bleed to be stop. As I said they did not have the right person to complete an Ultrasound and now I have to take her back to another clinic to complete further tests.
I scheduled an appointment with the doctor for 6:40 pm and the nurse told me that I would only be seen the doctor at 7:50 pm. And the consultation costs $360, that's unbelievable.
The care is excellent. Beware of the hidden costs- which are not to discussed until the procedure is complete. Then you get slammed by more bills even after you have settled all accounts .
I have just spent 4 days in Cairns Private Hospital after spending a week in the Cairns public hospital. Both are great hospitals but the Private hospital was amazing. The nurses and staff of a very high standard. They were all so kind and attentive. The food was great it was also great in the public hospital The rooms were immaculately cleaned and the hospital is quiet and peaceful. My surgery went really well and my surgeon was wonderful. Very happy with my experience. Thank you
My husband Tom has just had a knee replacement and last year a hip replacement. He was so well looked after. Everything is so efficient. The staff go out of their way to be caring and understanding. He is made to feel very comfortable and I am welcome. The food is very tasty food the type of meals that tempt the appetite, which is important. Its not C'Est Bon but better than pub food. There is plenty of it and a large variety.
Wow thanks to all the team at the Cairns Private Hospital. so professional. so friendly.
If you're thinking of having a baby here - don't. The nursing staff are always rushed whenever they answer your call bell, which can take anywhere up to half an hour, and when they pop their head in and advise a first time mother "that's normal" and rush out again because there simply aren't enough staff because Ramsay refuse to adhere to nurse to patient ratios, which Queensland Health do. Zero support for breastfeeding, no lactation consultant, just different and conflicting advice from every midwife and so you'll leave the hospital still confused with a bad latch and spend weeks trying to fix it. But don't worry, you'll still hear from them, you'll pay the bill, ask if there is anything further to pay and be told no, only to receive a bill in the mail two months later for outstanding amount , which you pay, and still receive bills for that amount for the next two months. Understaffed and incompetent. Edited to add: Why should I contact to discuss when I already submitted feedback electronically and by paper form? Clearly didn't care about it then since it's not public. Do better, Ramsay.
My experience for my stay was amazing. I would like to thank all the staff and medical teams in your Surgical department who looked after me. They are so professional and caring, nothing was to much for them.Always I will be thankful to them for all there care and of course the fabulous fun and laughter Well done everyone , Friends forever. You should be so proud of your teams. Regards Rosemary Clarke. Admitted 21st of April. .
