Spent the evening at a work event, walked out stuffed like a turkey. Great flavours with a great variety of foods and was very satisfied with all dishes presented. I found the seating a little tight and the facilities were not very clean. The service was great and vert plesent, on the ball fully commited to great service. I would love to eat here again and hope i can, great place, great service, a overall great resturant. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available. Parking: Was not easy to find parking around the area. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessable to wheelchairs.
Great Italian place with a waterfront view. Has a mix of classic Italian pastas, pizzas and risottos as well as afew other dishes. Atmosphere was had a busy social vibe to it and the lighting was comfortable.
Oh man. Where do I start here? The base was well undercooked. You could tell from the side view. There was far too much cheese, it congealed in a blob in your mouth. The top was undercooked. The water jugs were divine and the pasta may be nice but I wouldn't come here for a pizza. Service was fine.
Great Italian restaurant on the Kingston Foreshore. Food and drinks were delicious and very good serving sizes. Staff were nice and friendly.Food: 5/5
There's no beach in Canberra, but there is Kingston foreshore. You could use your imagination to turn the artificial concrete island with a bunch of apartment blocks into Calabrian cliffs overlooking an azure coastline, but you'd need to squint hard. Or alternatively, step inside La Rustica, a trattoria/ pizzeria featuring Calabrian cuisine think nduja, seafood & gelatos. LR won't remind you of a beachside getaway, but they do have supercomfy brown leather sofas with acrylic bling. Pros: * Massive servings * Appropriately priced * You can get the pizza as takeaway. * Very good service. Recommend: * Tiramisu: A big slab but don't think of sharing, you can finish it. Very authentic.
I like this restaurant because it is consistently good. The menu is consistent. I have several favourites here that I've enjoyed for years, but hey also have terrific specials. Their service is top-notch, and they have a good wine selection. The decor could do with a little updating. The banquette seating directly inside the front door could do with reupholstering, as could some of the other seats and decor in the restaurant, but - that aside - this is a genuinely good Canberra restaurant.
We had a lovely experience, such great service and the food was delicious
Good service but food honestly wasn’t worth $40 for pizza and $30 for pasta
Took us by surprise how nice it was. We didn't expect such a beautiful restaurant. Nice area. Attentive and friendly staff. Delicious pasta. Next time will bring my husband tooFood: 5/5
Visited La Rustica on 8 February for dinner and had a very negative experience. The staff, though polite, were uncertain on almost anything from reserved tables to what the kitchen actually produced. Food was brutally overpriced and average quality. Lasagne, fish and pasta were all under seasoned, extremely tight on portion sizes and lacking in any distinct flavour. A small piece of grilled fish and garden salad for $40 should at least be better than what I can make at home. Don’t know if it’s shrinkflation, ridiculous Kingston Foreshore rents or businesses trying to recoup $1m in a year after COVID but La Rustica has nosedived from what was an alright Italian restaurant to a place I am never going back to.
