Food is good for takeaway, but i wouldn't eat there. It's fine if you like to have a less private, everyone in your face type of dining experience. Got a little vague, service-wise after food arrived. The waitrress seemed not to be able to read the docket, so tried to give me only half my food. I told her did she think one rice dish was worth 40 bucks! The whole experience was strange and disjointed. Lastly, like the entire Chinatown in Sydney, the place was dirty. I have no idea why Chinatown is always so grubby..The whole area has seen better days.
Our all time favorite HK style cafe! Although there’s literally no service and no clean tables, the food is too authentic to say no! Super thick French toast with peanut butter and condensed milk is our top one must order item! Scrambled egg rice and stir fried noodles are recommended as well!
As usual not expecting too much service or atmosphere from this type of street eatery but the people there are really nice. The signature curry beef is quite a pleasant surprise to me in terms of both texture and taste. It's in the middle of soft and chewy and the curry is not super strong so combined with the plain rice I had a perfect lunch. We ordered two glass of YuanYang, one is hot and one is with ice, seems the cold one taste better
I came from Kowloon so having heard about this place makes me want to go try it. From the decors and the layout, it really reminds me when I was a kid living in HK. We ordered a few classics from the 90s, imitation shark fin, rice crepe with sesame and hoisin sauce, baked seafood white sauce rice and the fish siu mai. The rice crepe was spot on flavour, the only thing that they didn't imitate is serving it on some old magazine or news paper but not sure how that will look in 2023. The fish siu mai was pretty good too but I think slightly lack in flavour in the sauce. The shark fin soup was quite authentic as well, very close to what you get on the street. The baked rice tasted slightly little plain than it should be but it was quite close to what you can get in HK. Overall, this is very well done, price is fair to relive some childhood memories.
First time visit and it really transported me to Hong Kong! The atmosphere, decor and vibe was real and did not feel like we're in Sydney. Food was delicious, service was fast, food out in a flash, generous portions and authentic. Would absolutely be back!Food: 5/5
Can't rate this place any less than 5 star. The decoration was so eye catching. The food was very interesting and delicious. If you ever wonder what Hong Kong food is , this place will give you the full experienceFood: 5/5
Food is always delicious and at great value, the toast with peanut butter, baked curry chicken rice and steamed rice rolls with sesame paste were absolutely delicious. However the pineapple bun and signature noodles were very mediocre.Recommended dishesHK Style Toast, French Bread Baked Curry Chicken Rice, Steamed Rice Roll with Mixed Sauce
Great place for authentic Hong Kong food. Not a place you visit for a quiet ambience, you’re surrounded by the hustle and bustle of Chinatown … which I believe, adds to the experience. There is usually a line, but the staff able to get everyone seated the best way that they can. Food is served quickly, hot and flavorful. As squid ink, fried rice was lovely, however, the portion size could have been a tad larger, especially for diners who wish to share. Everyone was ordering the Hong Kong style toast with condensed milk, so we followed suit. It did not disappoint!
HK Style toast absolutely hit the spot. So good. We also really enjoyed the beef stir fry rice noodles horfun - it rlly packed the wok-hei smokiness The braised oxtail rice is good as well. Very flavorful and each bite leaves you wanting more.Food: 5/5
It took 30 minutes for my order of just the HK style French toast. Even though the service was slow, the toast was amazing with a crisp and buttery exterior but soft interior. The bread wasn’t too dry as well.Food: 5/5
