Straight away we were greeted with a friendly welcome & given menus, great customer service. My partner and I both had the hash stack with eggs it was delicious everything on the plate was perfect & the sauce was so yum! The coffee was average but I think it was the coconut milk. The food also took a wee bit longer than expected to come out as there was only one other table of 3 in the cafe when we ordered but it was worth the wait. Despite this, we will be back for sure
Really enjoyed the food and so did the kids. Found the services quite slow so was hard telling the kids they had to keep waiting as they were telling me they were hungry and for one of them, their drink took ages to come out. Also recommend getting a table further away from the counter if dining in, as it is very noisy with the coffee machine and blenders nearby. However the food was amazing, had the Eggs Benedict with Salmon and it was great. Kids got hotdog/chicken nuggets with chips and they were a good size for them.
This cafe is little gem hidden on High St, Lower Hutt. Had lunch with my family here. Food was fantastic! Freshly made, price is reasonably good for the big portions you receive. Fluffy pancakes with topping of crystalized bananas, bacon, fresh cream and syrup on the side. Chicken fettuccini was rich and creamy. Has a little kick of spice in it. Huge portion! Very filling but absolute delish! Omelette cooked to perfection. Eggs Benedict was good, mushrooms well cooked. However eggs were a little overcooked therefore no running yolk and the hollandaise looked more like mayonaise but overall it was very tasty! Waffle was fresh, moist with a touch of crunch to the crust. I purchased a carrot cake to take home. It wasn't the best carrot cake I've had but it was still edible. Cake was a little dense and icing was quite firm. It seemed it was from the night before but the flavours were there. The service was great and friendly. If you have a big appetite and you enjoy a good hearty meal then this place would be the best place to be!
I really love this place. The usual chatty woman at the front isn't here but the Indian guy is cheery, offering beer to the older women for a chuckle and its so nice & cool with cheerful music & chatting that is not too loud. Wide range of people. The food is not cheap but is good. We shared a big breakfast & it was great
Hidden Gem is right. This place looks pretty average and even the cabinet food looks a little average...but the food that comes out of the kitchen is great. My pancakes were delicious. Couldn't ask for better. Coffee was great. Really friendly and efficient service. Also loved the 90s music they play.
