I had such a lovely experience at Janus Bakery today. I’m autistic and have social anxiety, and I asked the cashier if she would mind letting me order first, then go back outside to get my two golden retrievers before bringing the food over to me instead of handing it across the counter. She was so kind and accommodating about it and made the whole experience feel comfortable and stress-free.nnThere was a moment where I accidentally sat at a table that was too sunny and tried opening the umbrella, only to realise the shade wouldn’t actually cover the table properly. It became a bit overwhelming and honestly made me want to leave. Another staff member came outside and kindly offered to help, and although I ended up just moving to a shaded table instead, the patience and understanding from the staff really stayed with me.nnThe food was absolutely delicious. I’d also overestimated how much room I’d have left after my sandwich and couldn’t finish the cronut I ordered, so a third staff member kindly brought me out a container to take it home in. She was really friendly as well and complimented my dogs, which made me smile.nnMy dogs had a great time relaxing with me, and the warmth and understanding from all three staff members genuinely meant a lot. Experiences like this make difficult outings feel possible, and I really appreciated the kindness shown to me today. Thank you — I’ll definitely be back.
Lots of options in the cabinets, had to bob down to catch some of the temptations at the back. Great selection of gluten free too. The toasted chicken, cranberry & brie panini was larger than I realised & well filled so with a bowl of hot chips was a substantial lunch. Mums quiche was perfect for her.nnOne little warning if you get a sandwich that has a cardboard carrier, make sure the paper bag is twisted at the ends to secure it. I held the door open for a lady with her hands full & young child behind, as she stepped through the door her roll flew out of the bag & landed all over the carpet. I hope her day improved.
I died and went to Lemon heaven with their Lemon Tart. OMG, my salivary glands are already in overdrive just thinking about it! Bacon and Potato Danish was also delish... Thoughtfully warmed up for dine in. Hubs had the Moroccan Chicken Bap which was also tasty and the bread nicely fluffy. So many other delectable treats but not enough tummy space. Will definitely be back!
Great spot here! Always bustling and we go out of our way for a garunteed good feed no matter what you order.nAlways bustling in both the bakery and café. Highly recommend. Staff are super friendly and you certainly appreciate how flat out they are, they're hustling!nAmple parking, ample access, give it a spin!
