I've been to Kinji a number of times and it is one of those places thay never really changes, however, it doesn't need to as it is consistently a great place to go. All the staff greet you when you enter (bookings are essential here!) so you feel very welcome. It is quite small so you are never waiting for service as someone is always on hand. The food and sake selection is amazing and it is definitely the kind of place where you want to order a few different things so that you can try it all. I highly recommend this place!

What can I say? Read all the reviews and decided to go with the missus. No offence to people living in this beautiful city of Christchurch but with a population of around 400k, I thought it must be easy to impress a small population. Well well well. I had to reassess my opinion after picking my jaw off the table after trying the first 2 dishes. The place was packed on a Monday night with a constant stream of people coming in while we ate. Service was very good but the food was amazing. I'm looking forward to coming here again when we're back in town in a couple of weeks so we can work through the rest of the menu.

My favorite Japanese restaurant hands down. I have been here 10+ times over the past year with my partner, family and friends and I have NEVER been disappointed. Like any Japanese restaurant the prices to most people are on the slightly higher end, but here I assure you it is worth it. Keep doing what you're doing team, love the work :)
