Kingsley’s is a Canberra institution and a delicious treat I try and have whenever I’m in town. The southern fry is so good.
EDIT: I didn't change my four star rating but I discovered that the guest washrooms are pretty dire. Urgently in need of a refit. Please send help.nnI have had pretty good consistent lunch experiences here. Food is decent, the coleslaw balances the chicken nicely. Service kids are fine. You don't come for the atmosphere.nnBut the best part is the price. I can't believe you can get a high quality chicken roll for $9 in 2024. I'll come back.nnChips are very good if you love carbs.
Raw chicken - bought just a while back at Kingleys Weston.
For some of the times, your south fry chicken would be amazingly delicious.nnBut from time to time, it would be dry inside and slightly too salty outside. Not very juicy.nnI tried the Kingsley chicken in the Woden Westfield, I assume maybe it is your cook.
Food is average these days. Then they tried to charge me for a shit paper bag to carry my food in. Blaming the plastic bag ban. How does it make any sense that a ban on the free plastic bags they gave us with every order now means they charge for an interior paper bag replacement? I'll go elsewhere for food until they stop ripping people off with bags
