Went in to purchase ONE high quality chefs knife and all he (the stupid dweeb who runs the place) could do was try to sell us a whole set. Even though he had the knife we wanted (right there in the display case). Left, went to David Jones, found the exact knife (cheaper) and purchased it without hassle. Will never visit King of Knives again!! Absolutely disgraceful service

A small shop with not just knives. Decent selection compared to what you'd find at a non-specialist store, but "king" they are not. Limited selection in terms of brands.

Lots of interesting kitchen related stuff, including a cool knife holder. Also has keep-cups which is a bonus.

Terrible company and horrible work ethics. We went in with the intention of buying a speciality yanagiba sashimi knife and were directed by the store manager to buy a japanese chefs knife instead (120 dollars more than the original knife we intended to buy), he said that it would slice sashimi just as effectively if not better and we would get more use out of it. We took it home and were happy to pay more for the knife under the guidance of the manager provided it would do the task of slicing fish effectively. We were very disappointed with the knife as it was not sharp and wouldn't even slice the skin of a capsicum. The knife was blunt and didn't have the right edge for the delicate task of slicing sashimi anyway. We voiced our complaint to the store and were told nothing could be done in the way of store credit or refund. All I wanted was an effective knife for a specific purpose. Also, try and call head office and it just rings out, they never answer, tried for 4 days in a row during business hours to call on several occasions and they don't answer. Furthermore, after emailing, we were told by the king of knives boss that we were being disrespectful. Absolutely appalling behaviour!!!

Terrible customer service Melbourne Central on Sunday 13 August around 4 PM. I asked for something and he (the one and only guy with black-short curly hair) even didn't point it out to the right thing -not helpful at all and chose to serve other customer. I'll never come back for sure.
