The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient at this motel. The location is excellent with nearby restaurants, bars all being within a 2minute walk. Why I always choose to stay at Kensington over the surrounding hotels/motels is due to their level of cleanliness of their rooms. I travel a bit for work and am put up in 5+ Star hotels and I can honestly say that Kensington Motel is the cleanest motel you will come across in Whangarei. They could really teach a lot of other places a thing or two about the level of cleanliness hotel/motel rooms should be.
This property was exceptionally clean I’ve never seen stainless sparkle like this shower and sink!! and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Walking distance to Lonestar, a pharmacy and Superette. The Z gas station across the road has great coffee we are coffee snobs and avoid gas station coffee for the morning. We stayed in a family room which had its own full kitchen including oven. Separate room with double bed and could easily fit two children with extra room for a pull out or portacot. Great room for families at a reasonable price, will definitely come back when in the area again
A lovely clean motel. I phoned earlier as we were going to be arriving late due to Auckland traffic. When we arrived at the motel our unit was nice and warm as the curtains had been closed and the heat pump was on. We will definitely stay again. Thank you
Slightly older motel, but immaculate. Good firm beds, great shower pressure and hot water, modern A/C would recommend.
We have stayed here twice now and love the location. Walking distance to supermarkets, eateries in Kensington and town. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We have stayed in many hotels but I love this place as its quiet even though it's on the main road. It has comfy beds, very clean and the kitchenette in our large one bedroom unit had everything we need. One thing to note parking is limited to one space per room, but there was plenty out on the road. The second night there was vacant rooms so we were able to park our other car on site. Look forward to seeing the staff again at the end of May.
