Overall not bad. Lacking in a little bit in the ambiance department but the food is good. We loved their tender Beef Tataki, and their crispy prawn tempura. As Paul tell tasty!! But unfortunately they let me down in the sushi department, the rice tasted old. And personal preference but the gyozas weren’t as good as I was expecting.
BEST tempura in northern suburbs price is reasonable and clean place toovery polite services too thanks you also I was asking for contener take away they even give the Bento type container mostly the services are friendly and I b back
I love the Japanese dishes from Katsuya. No complaints on that part. The dining in atmosphere is a bit dated so it doesn't invite me to sit and enjoy the great food in the restaurant. Take away is a good option and the food travels quite well.Food: 5/5
First visit to dine in with a little one after viewing attractive menus on the restaurant website. Staff was so kind that he naturally moved a box of tissue from the next table to us, probably for my kids and reminded us the soup was very hot when served. And the pork katsu don was excellent warm as same as restaurants in Japan. The vegetable tempura was crunchy. The salmon katsu don was well prepared to make it easy to dip with Mayo and/or katsu sauce. Also the tap was equipped with a water filter. Great find in Joondalup area. I will come back for sure to take a photo of a rarely found pork katsu usually chicken katsu is served at most of Japanese restaurants in Perth. However pork katsu don is very common in Japan served in a well designed authentic donburi rice bowl. Reasonably priced authentic Japanese restaurant. No wonder to get two award plates.
The food was a tad high on the price, however the staff was really friendly and welcoming. The place wasn't well cleaned on the flooring, interior was okay. The food was okay, like there wasn't anything special about it, servings were a bit small considered its price - however it did taste good. This place is pretty good, if you want to settle down for a quick lunch.
Great friendly service! Food was as fresh as it gets! The lunch specials are great value. Price is reasonable! Will be returning here.Food: 5/5
Paid 20.90 for teriyaki beef with rice and only got 70 grams worth of beef and still starving afterwards. Stupidly small serving sizes for the price, food is microwaved as well. Discraceful
Wonderful Udon noodles, tasty green tea and lovely customer service. The restaurant is decorated well and has a nice atmosphere.
I ordered a teriyaki chicken for lunch and a side adogashi tofu . One who is particular about being served fresh food , the grilled teriyaki chicken wasn’t cooked fresh before serving . It was microwaved as it’s straight from the kitchen to table being a late lunch I was the only customer . The chicken wasn’t piping hot . I called on the chef but she insist chicken was fresh . Probably she didn’t understood what I meant when I asked fresh . Eaten enough chicken my lifetime to know it’s not served fresh and was just heated up in micro . Disappointing . Won’t be back
First thing I noticed was the floor which was very sticky and a bit gross. The menu looked great and I was pretty excited about trying the food. We were the only ones dining in at the time and just after we ordered I started hearing a torrent of microwave pings which had me cringing. The food came out quickly but was not fresh or good quality... disappointing. I'm 99.9% sure that my teriyaki beef and a my husbands udon noodles plus the gyoza had been microwaved. My beef didn't taste fresh at all and actually tasted a bit funny so I didn't eat it. The gyoza was ok, the spring rolls and prawn tempura had really thick batter and was soggy in the middle. If I pay $84 for a meal I do expect it to at least be cooked fresh.. not heated up in the microwave.
