I had a wonderful experience at Kareena Private Hospital. The doctors, nurses, and all the staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always available whenever I needed assistance. Their dedication and care made me feel truly looked after.nnThe food was another highlight – healthy, nutritious, and served in good portions with multiple options to choose from, which made my stay more comfortable.nnThe hospital itself is spotless, especially the rooms and bathrooms, which were cleaned thoroughly and regularly. I truly appreciated the high standard of hygiene and comfort provided throughout my stay.nnHighly recommended for anyone looking for excellent medical care in a warm and supportive environment!
I had an incredible experience at Kareena Hospital for the birth of my first child. From the compassionate support in the birthing suite to the exceptional care in the maternity ward, every person we met went above and beyond to provide us with the utmost care, guidance, and nurturing support – like our very own fairy godmothers.nnAs first-time parents, we naturally felt some anxiety, but those feelings never lasted long thanks to the kindness and reassurance of the wonderful staff. No question was ever too small, and no level of assistance was ever too much.nnA very special thank you to incredible Deb and Sandy from the birthing suite, and to the amazing midwives from the maternity ward – Lorraine, Deb, Cathy, Kay, Bailey, and Danielle. Thank you all so much for making this experience so special, supportive, and truly unforgettable. Courtney & Matt
The maternity ward at this hospital is a disgrace. On arrival for my wife’s C-section, no room was available. After surgery, I was left in the dark for over two hours about both my wife and our baby. The only information I received was that the baby’s oxygen saturation “wasn’t high enough,” but no one explained what that meant, nor was I updated when my wife was moved into recovery or when she would return to the ward. Those two hours of silence were terrifying, and with no room available, I had nowhere to sit. I was even told to wait in the café downstairs until someone came to get me, only to be called back within minutes because my wife had returned.nnWhen I finally saw my wife, she was in pain and had to wait another 20 minutes after pressing the buzzer before she was able to ask for pain relief. At that stage, we still had no proper information about our baby. We had to ask where she was, as the last update I had was that she might need to be admitted and my wife had not been provided with any in recovery. The response was given casually, “she’ll be brought in within 15 minutes.” I wasn’t even present for her first weights and checks, something that used to be standard for fathers.nnThe next evening, when I had to leave to care for our other children, my wife was still in pain, catheter in, unable to move, and not yet on her feet. I had taken our baby to the nursery so my wife could rest and more importantly, heal, only for a nurse to return 10 minutes later, wheel the baby back in, and tell my wife to “get your mum or sister to come look after the baby” before walking out, without any thought for my wife’s family circumstances, let alone how was my wife’s going to be able to get the baby out or back into the crib. My wife, left crying in distress, had to call me, and only after I escalated through the hospital’s patient line did she finally receive the basic care she should have had all along.nnThis is not a safe or supportive environment for mothers or newborns. Our last child was born here during COVID-19, and the care back then was outstanding. Now, the maternity ward is driven by cost cutting, with staff doing the bare minimum. The proof? They don’t even provide the basics like tissue boxes throughout the entire hospital. A nurse told us this was “hospital cost cutting,” and patients are instead handed a roll of toilet paper. Come on.nnThe maternity ward has gone from excellence to negligence. By far the worst experience we have ever had. They lure families in with a sales pitch, but the reality is horrible. I feel for any first time parents who would endure this. Mothers and babies deserve better. Don’t put your loved ones through the same, especially if, like us, you are paying for a private service expecting better care than the public system.nnOf all of this, one positive was a nurse named Bailey. She was superb, kind, gentle, caring, and an absolute star in an otherwise appalling experience.
I attended today for a surgical procedure and I give this hospital full marks.nEvery single person did an awesome job right from the start when I approached the reception counter to be greeted by a smiling friendly girl at the counter, instructions were clear and concise for where to go next. Level 1 admissions was also a good friendly experience and all nursing staff were also awesome. The anaesthetist and surgeon did a fantastic job.nCongratulations to everyone for providing a first class experience.
