Great location directly on the beach with plenty of parking. Decent food but on this occasion, we experienced slow and unfriendly service. Waited over 25 minutes for one coffee. The latte was nice but only warm. While waiting for our order, we moved tables to get out of the sun and the waitress wasn’t very polite about it. The breakfast tacos were really tasty. The breakfast bun was standard. We paid $53 for three items two breakfast dishes and one coffee, which was on the expensive side. After finishing our meal, ordered a large latte to take away took 20 minutes this time and this one wasn’t hot either. The same unfriendly waitress couldn’t even fake a smile or say anything to me when I smiled and thanked her for my take away coffee. Dining in tip - don’t use the QR code on the table. Quite a few customers that arrived after us got their coffee and food orders before us by ordering in person.
Joe’s at Henley Beach has an absolutely stunning outlook. It’s a lovely, quirky building that reflects beach kiosks. You can sit inside and see the sea or sit outside and overlook the beach. We arrived without a booking and sat outside with a view of the sea. Finding a restaurant with such a view without a reservation is golden. The service was friendly and prompt. The food, excellent. This is a great spot in a less crowded part of Henley with plenty of parking mid week. I’m so glad a local recommended Joe’s!
Beautiful beach side views, cute little cafe, very busy and bustling. Coffee was good, so was the food. We were lucky to get a table without booking!!
Overpriced food, noisy atmosphere.nThe lobster roll with only a tiny piece of lobster buried under an oversized bun. Hot drinks, despite tasting good, were served lukewarm. The Cous Cous pesto salad lacked any pesto flavor and was severely under-seasoned. The grilled chickens with it are like cardboard in both texture and taste. The beer battered fish in the fish taco was bland and unseasoned with the combination of pickled onions and slaw was a disaster. Great location for pictures and service was passable.
How can you resist a cafe with a view of Henley. I was lucky enough to eat here for breakfast and lunch.nnWe had ordered pancakes, salmon omelette, and pork benny. I always had a sweet tooth and gravitated towards the pancake. The dulce de leche was delicious. The flatwhite and matcha were nice.nnFor lunch, we had the oysters. The perfect combo was the vinaigrette that accompanied it. Oysters were fresh.nnThe service was very lovely and of course the view was amazing.
