My wife took me and the kids out to this place, for my birthday, it's a place we've wanted to visit for ages. She had made a reservation. We waited 10 min at the door for anyone to notice us and then take us to our table... We had chosen what we wanted and were waiting for some wait staff... No one came... After about 10 min I stopped one of them and said we're ready to order... She said ok and walked off... We waited another 10 min with no one coming to take our order.... So we got up and walked out. Disgraceful service.

My partner and our 4yo decided on a whim to have dinner here. Unknown to us they were doing a Octoberfest beer and food matching. Can honestly say the food was wonderful and the beers, three Belgian and one German, were pretty wonderful too. The chef and the sommelier both spoke about the dinner and the beers with real eloquence and passion. They even made a special meal for our child - who wasn’t that into paired food and beer. All in all a memorably lovely meal in a beautiful setting (botanic gardens on a balmy Melbourne night) and very welcoming and warm people.

Lovely setting in the botanical gardens. Menu lists many traditional saigon dishes but they are inauthentically made - e.g. use of bean vermicelli instead of rice vermicelli across all dishes (they are not the same!), fish sauce isn't blended, dishes were generally too salty. I've been twice for weekend lunch and on both occasions they seemed quite understaffed (although the staff are friendly) - you can hear the kitchen repeatedly yelling 'service!' and no-one going to get the dishes.

After walking around the magnificant Gardens for quite afew hours we needed needed some refreshments and ended up back near the Observatory so we tried Jardin Tan. It has a cafe style Eatery and Beer Garden as well as a small Kiosk that also has a sit down eating area The Kiosk which sells coffee, hot chocolate, tea, juices and soft drink as well as brekky and lunch. It also has an ice cream booth which as you can imagine gets pretty busy on warm days. It was a warm day so we decided on the Kiosk. The coffee was bad, really bad but the ice ream was superbly delicious. It has a great range of flavours, I liked the yoghurt and berries.

Amazingly unexpected! We went to the botanical garden and want it to have something to eat in the way, we were expecting a coffee shoo or a snack place and instead we found this amazing Vietnamese restaurant in the entrance of the park. The food was delightful, the spring rolls and the pho were just fantastic. And the place is very pretty with good service. I highly recommend this gem!
