The taste of the food and the quantity served were stupendous! Tried peasant style pickled fried rice at this place. It has a great taste and a wide variety of veggies added compared to the other Asian restaurants I tried in my life so far. One thing that I did not like about the dish was the rice which was quite dry. However, I checked with the staff and they clarified that's how the rice comes with this dish. In relation to the atmosphere, the place and furniture looks like less maintained. However, I don't care as the food's taste was pretty good.
I waited 25 minutes for take away in store for this fish soup. Normally this taste amazing. The fish was dry the soup does not look like the photo and every other time I have had it. The veggies taste like they were in the fridge for a month. The soup is not spicy there is no flavour. The customer service was terrible. To make it worse there were 4 people after me who received their food before me. The packaging in their takeaway containers have reduced dramatically. I will never order from jackpot or this restaurant again.
Dined at the Brisbane CBD location several times and it can be hit and miss. However for this review, I visited on the 13th May and the rating is based on this particular visit. Food was excellent, came out really quick, perhaps a little too quick. I think I only waited 5 mins before my main meal arrived so it did make me pause for a moment. However the food tasted as good as the first time ever I visited and the portion to cost ratio was excellent. Highly recommend.
Selected food was very delicious and some weren't that good. Waitress was horrible, nasty attitude. She just brought the food to the table and leave it without even greeting. She was stubborn. Lady taking the order at the register was extremely friendly. Average place. Parking: Myer City Parking is ideal
Bought some takeaway Pickles fried rice with beef It was different from other fried rice but not much beef Steam vegetables was ok Quick service
Very good restaurant. Food is affordable and they serve the food very quickly. Each dish is around $12 to $15 dollars. They have bubble tea as well!
Food is okay and pretty good value for money. The staff were generally friendly but their service and cleanliness need improvement. When dined in, the dish was served without cutlery and the staff left without saying a word. Only then realised to grab own cutlery from the counter, which was fine. Tables were sticky and the tray of cutlery need cleaning. I ordered online and went to pick up after 20 min. When I arrived the order was not processed, so ended up waiting for another 20 min. The staff apologised and gave a free soft drink. Thank you for that. This happened twice now. Most recent visit was on a quiet Sunday afternoon. I legit stood at the counter waiting to order, while the 2 staff stood at the kitchen window chatting. They looked at me, made eye contact and looked away. No one said a word nor gestured for me to wait etc. So, I left and went to another restaurant on Elizabeth St. Maybe the staff were having a bad day. Hopefully the service and cleanliness will improve. Go here if you are not in a hurry.
Did you know that Jackpot Dining used to be called Jackpot Noodles? The first store opened near the casino hence the Jackpot name in the last century - just typing that makes me feel old! They’ve expanded over the years, and rebranded to Jackpot Dining about a decade ago. Whilst I’ve dined numerous times at some of their other branches, I’ve never set foot inside their Elizabeth St branch that is a stone’s throw from my office. The time finally came when I went for lunch with some colleagues. Ordering is done at the counter upon entry, and you’ll get a buzzer to collect your food, or a table number for items like the hot pots to be brought out to you. Cutlery, napkins etc are all self service. On this first visit, I ordered: * no.82 Malaysian curry laksa, $12.80 * no.101 pearl milk tea, $6 My food was ready within about 10 minutes. The laksa wasn’t the best I’ve had, but a fairly competent version and decent value for money. It came with two types of noodles, and a commendable amount and variety of ingredients: prawns, tofu puff, fish balls, fish cake, squid, chicken, long beans, and bean sprouts. The broth had a mild kick - good for wider/mass appeal, but I would’ve liked more punch and depth to the flavours and spice level. I wouldn’t particularly recommend the pearl milk tea - it was fairly average and the pearls too far on the soft end of the texture spectrum. Neither sugar nor ice were customisable thankfully the standard sweetness was fine for me, and the drink was served in a narrow, square-shaped glass which made me wonder as to the volume you get vs a takeaway cup. While $6 is an entirely reasonable price for such a drink, I’d rather spend that amount in a specialist BBT store to get better tea and pearls. There’s quite a bit of seating inside though it’s mostly setup for groups up to 4; larger groups will need to rearrange some furniture. We went for an early lunch so had plenty of tables to pick from, but by the time we left around 12:30pm the place was full with dine-in customers and queues in both ordering and food collection areas. Looks like the well priced meals and quick turnaround is a winning formula!
Ordered bbq pork with noodle soup and got served 4 frozen wontons with noodle soup. 15 dollars for 4 frozen wontons and some noodles? Not only the wonton were gross and the soup tasted like it was watered down, I was told that it is what it is. Good joke
The portion is a lot more than I thought it would be! The spicy fish hot pot has Chinese vermicelli in it too!Recommended dishesSoy Pudding with Pearl and Taro
