Excellent Japanese cafe in the CBD. Very much casual dining the food is delicious, hearty and authentic. Loved the sushi and eel domburi. This will definitely be one of my new Brisbane favourites when I am in town.

I would say it was the most unhappiest meal I had recently. The karaage - I knew it from the first bite, the chicken was old. When you fry the chicken that is not well stored or not fresh, the texture becomes super dry. The roll was okay but generally the food itself was not cooked decently - I was very disappointed that it was not even decent.  However, I know how hard it is to work in f&b, all the waiter and waitresses were still nice. Wouldn't say much about the owner.  Just remembered that they use the wasabi you can get from a market. Not a fresh one but like a paste. Maybe here could be a good place if you just want to have a drink with lots of people and company with just light snacks.

The combination of Tempura Udon + Sushi was perfect. Especially the Sake Salmon Aburi - should have ordered more!! Reasonable price with great quality. Fantastic vibe. I managed to find a nice corner and enjoy my lunch.

We had a wonderful dinner at Izakaya Kotobuki. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Atmosphere is great and nicely decorated with Japanese influence. We had mixed sashimi as entree and Unaju Don, chicken curry rice, Fried oyster Bento, Wagyu Beef Sizzling. Sashimi is fresh and tasty. The grilled eel is delicious and fried osyter is very yummy. We are very happy with our visit and looking forward to come back and try other dishes.

Great value for money. All the dish you see in pic costed us $40 and it can easily feed 3 ppl. Taste wise not the best but not bad either. Service is friendly and fast.

Exactly what we needed for a late night dinner before heading out on the town. Great customer service and efficient and polite staff who are patient and happy to answer or recommend certain dishes and drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience and was pretty much 2 meters from the exit doors of the hotel Oaks Casino Towers where we stayed for the night. Highly recommend. Arigato gozaimasu

Arrived here for lunch, had been to Izakaya when they were down on Albert. But this was my first visit to this location. I ordered a Katsu Curry Udon Soup at approximately 12:20pm. By 12:45pm there was no sign of my lunch. My friend had received theirs quite promptly within 10 mins of ordering, but I was still waiting. So, I asked the waitress and got a strange apology. Anyway I was confident they were onto it. Or was I? 5 minutes passed and nothing, it was time for me to run back to the office for a 1pm meeting. I caught the attention of the waitress a second time and asked for my dine-in lunch, which never arrived, to be packed instead. That took another 5 minutes, though it felt like longer. Alas, due to being forgotten about and ignored - I had to take my lunch back to the office with me. Which unfortunately I was not able to eat until 3pm when my meeting finished. So much for stopping in at 12:15pm for a 45 minutes lunch break which IMO should’ve included eating said lunch. When I did eat my udon, it was ok. May have been more delicious if I had had it fresh. I wish the management had acknowledged they’d forgotten about me, instead of pretending my food was “on its way” for over 30 mins. The one star is for the taste. The rest of the experience - would not repeat.

Good Japanese restaurant, located close by to the CBD. They seat you down quite quickly and are quick to serve you water. The interior of the restaurant is quite nice, with the red lanterns hanging overhead acting as a significant contrast to the black and white walls almost like a manga.  The food was really tasty. I ate the scallop aburi and the salmon lion king rolls. I would highly recommend both of these dishes! They were fresh, tasty, and seared to the right amount. They had a good degree of sauce too, which elevated the dish.  I’d recommend coming here for the general vibe and the food. Service is quite good. They accidentally added someone else’s order to mine, but quickly resolved this when they realised!

We enjoyed our family get-together here. The food was delicious, the helpings were large, and the prices were reasonable. Staff are friendly.
