Nice little gem downstairs in the mall. Yum. Great deal with the char-siu men special. Char-sui men also comes with extra slices of tender chasu pork, which is great. Aka had lots of flavour, and spicy. Gyoza were super tasty. Friendly service.
Great broth but overal felt lacking. Came here for a late lunch to satisfy our cravings and came across Hakataya, located cosily down a set of stairs. Not too busy at the time and ordered the Charsiu-men and 10 gyoza. As mentioned, the broth is great. Rich & smooth, I could slurp bowls of it down if you let me. But otherwise the bowl felt lacking of what I've come to expect of a ramen bowl. The half boiled egg, some seaweed and what not. The gyoza was disappointing and felt as if it were generic frozen dumplings.
Delicious ramen broth and perfect kaedama noodles. Great that they offer free serve of extra noodles. The only thing is the chashu serving is very small. You can order extra but I feel a little more should be included in the meal anyway.
The Ton-meshi is good, I guess it might be the best one I can find in this area and so is the gyoza. It's much better than what I expect. The pickled mustard green taste is alright but it's not match with the rice and the rice is not good enough. I also expect for the better sauce of gyoza. Whatever, it's still a good choice to have a meal here.
Nice fresh taste friendly staff. Tastes as good as the ramen I had when I was in Tokyo great job.
Unfortunately my young 7 year old daughter who loves ramen has been completely terrorised out of ever going back to Hakataya Ramen in Queens Street. After walking Queens Street for several hours we walked into Hakataya Ramen and she sat down, being she is only six. The cashier then began berating and yelling at her for sitting down before ordering we were still at the counter!. We were in shock that this man felt he had any right to shout at a child - especially in the service industry. On the verge of tears, we left and will not be returning despite having been going there for the last three years. Such as pity it takes one bad employee to ruin a venue forever.
The place is small but cozy. The waitress/cashier seems annoyed/unhappy with her work. She does her work like a robot. The ramen is fine.Food: 3/5
If you're new in Brisbane, like an International student or backpackers, Hakataya ramen is the most accessible and prolly the first Ramen place for you to eat. Ramen tastes average to me, a little salty but not that comforting. There's a missing taste that you'll be looking. There are other Ramen restaurant where you can buy with the best soup base.
Very good ramen and gyoza. The ramen goes about $14-$18 a bowl. Good lunch time sized serving not too big or small. Gyoza was really nice with a smokey flavour and crispy bottoms. The service was really quick and the staff friendly. Added bonus, they offer FREE ramen on your birthday. Worth a visit.
Not nice. Extremely salty for miso ramen
