Not only is the food incredible with many vegan and veggie options.. but the staff are attentive - remembering us after only being there once before a month before! - and incredibly friendly providing a high quality service with a smile. The food was amazing and a great price. Would recommend, and already have!, to anyone!!

I don't hate this place and I'm not a fan either. Largely disappointed with Strawberry lassi. That didn't blend well.  Navaratna korma was a nay  something I enjoyed eating was the coconut rice.

Mary is a very hospitable and welcoming host who made us feel like homeThe dishes she recommended were very delicious! In the celebration of the 27th anniversary, the restaurant offers free sweets for guests, and they are tasty too! Highly recommend Istana Malaysia!

Just delicious! Was fairly busy when we went and they still served everything in a timely manor. Loved the food, walked out feeling very full, and can’t wait to go back again.

Amazing food and and excellent service. Mary made us feel at home with her warm service. Will definitely visit each time we are in Wellington!

As many South Indians like myself will attest though perhaps not publicly, Malaysian cuisine takes the best of ours and makes it that much better! Istana is a lovely place to enjoy delicious food and relax with friends. The owner and her staff are great people too. Romba nandri many thanks!
