Ipot is a modern Chinese Hot Pot restaurant

Story

Ipot is a contemporary Chinese hot pot restaurant fitted with custom made electric tables allowing each customer to cook their own selection of ingredients to their liking – and then share it with the rest of their table!

Ipot is not simply an eating experience, it’s a social activity! Influenced by the ancient practice of Dou Lao meaning ‘everyone gets something’, each pot of food allows for personal choice while still encouraging sharing and communal eating.

Our talented Executive Chef, Shanghai trained Jason Wong insists on only the highest quality ingredients for your hot pot – including plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options – so you get a fresh, delicious and authentic taste of China with every visit.

Been here for dinner, we ordered 2 soup base and a few dishes at first. We started heating the soup and placing ingredients in the pot but when it started to boil we found a insect inside the soup and ask it to get exchanged, they took so long to respond with no apology and it wasn't even busy. After they exchanged the pot they wouldn't compensate what we put in the soup, so we were short of food since some of the food was in the pot with the bug. After we finished the waitress come up and forced up to pay the bill early. This place has bad service and the price of the serving size is so small for the price is absolutely poor. I recommend people go to the all you can eat hot pot buffet as the food is the same as this place as the food is not fresh.
Terrible food and service! Save your money! I normally do not worry too much about service but here it was terrible. We had to wait ages for our food to come and it all came at different times so we couldn't eat our hot pots with all the ingredients we wanted, by the time the seafood came, our soups had boiled to nothing. The menu boasts the finest ingredients yet nearly everything came to us frozen, which is not what we expected from the prices. Strongly recommen to avoid! There are so many better Chinese and hot pot places. The food and prices are so bad I actually am writing this while in the restaurant! Avoid this place!
Oh where to start? Firstly, after ordering our soup bases and all additions meat, veggies, noodles etc we were left with a bubbling pot of broth each, for ages. Then ONE of the drinks came. The other one failed to show up we later got the explanation that since they'd run out of glasses, thus logically we couldn't have it. Aha!. Then the mushrooms came out. No spoons or bowls or anything. Just a big bowl of mushrooms. Then some beef. Still no cutlery! We ask for it. It appears. Then we're cooking mushrooms and beef for a while, a long while. 20 minutes later, crab sticks appear. By the time the noodles finally land on our table, the soup has all but evaporated and it's late, we're over it. Veggies?! Nah, never saw any of them. That second drink? Oh don't be silly, no glasses! The bill lands on our table and we're encouraged to pay up, right then and there while still eating "cash or card?!". Unsurprisingly, the missing items are included. Interestingly, staff are never apologetic neither rude, just completely indifferent, and clearly not the sharpest tools in the shed... So, while the food itself is good, the experience totally and profoundly sucked and there's a million other hot pot places around which are So. Much. Better.
I have never commented on any restaurant or its service, but this one really surprised me by showcasing how they don't understand the basics of doing HotPot. The taste, base and everything else are just fundamentally wrong and of course, disgusting. The whole expreice gets better when you have digestive problems the second day, as a perfect reminder of the worst dinning experience. Rating 1 star only because I can't go negative...
Delicious, didn't have wagu beef but still amazing
This place is a scam to rip off unsuspecting people... and their service is abyssmal too. The staff are unattentive and lazy. When you finally manage to get their attention and ask them a question, they'll look at you but continue walking away. If they do respond, it's usually no more than a 1 word response that doesn't answer your question. eg: "Excuse me, some of our food hasn't come yet. It's been 30 minutes. Is the order correct?" "O.K." *Waiter goes back to looking at the waiting list and seating customers* Table Service is extremely slow and your soup will dry up long before any dishes even come out. There's no food prep involved so there shouldn't be an excuse for food arriving late... the customer does all the cooking. You'll also get slugged with hidden costs such as $4 extra for sauce which they don't tell you about and additional charges if your cooktop doesn't work... THATS RIGHT!! The induction cooktop on your table doesn't work so you have no means to cook your food but they'll still charge you extra to put a portable gas stove on the table.
This place is a bit different to the traditional steamboat / hotpot restaurant because everyone gets their own pot to cook in. There also isn't that unbearable heat from open fire, since ipot uses electric stoves on each table. A really clean and new hotpot restaurant in the CBD!
I don't even understand how can people give this hotpot restaurant a 5 star? I was meant to eat at Yu Xiang Hot Pot but, when I got there they were closed for the day due to CNY. So then my family and I decided to try iPot out. The place is small compared to Yu Xiang HP. 1. One of the workers there and the lady at the reception table WORE SLIPPERS around the restaurant which I consider unhygienic. And the lady did not wear any uniform nor had her long hair tied backwhat if her hair falls into the food?. In comparison, Yu Xiang HP does it better, clean uniform and great customer service where as at iPot my mum had to ask for sauce bowls and ask for tissues. -> terrible customer service. 2. One of the male workers had the 'Don't ask me for help' on his face, he acted lazy. That made me wonder if the he was fed enough to do his job properly or he doesn't get paid enough??? 3. I don't get why this place is bit more expensive when compared to Yu xiang HP. The food was average, frozen? 4. Would never go back there ever again : And also, the restaurant was NOISY as hell. Thanks to the group of white/asian group who was so inconsiderate of other people around dining with them. I get it you may feel very happy but it was over the top.
Never had worse!!!!!! We have a booking and confirm 10 minutes before arrival. Upon arrival i was told the table was given to the boss's friend walk in TWO minutes before us and just took our table and no more table available!! Definitely worst experience ever!
They were good when they just opened a few years ago. This was the only place I went to when I feel like hotpot. But now they are slipping, service wise, and there are many new hotpot places, so I stopped coming here.
