Interesting little cafe that is kind of HongKongese, kind of Malaysian-Singaporean, king of Japanese, all in brunch format.nnThey seem to specialise in bolo bun, or more known as pineapple bun. We got a bolo bun with chicken katsu. It’s sweet and savoury, but we found the fresh tomato to be a bit awkward in the whole combination.nnWe also got a jaffle burger and baked egg curry dip with roti. Both had pretty interesting flavour. We found the baked curry a bit too thick that we could hardly dip it with the roti, but it was still pretty delicious.nnWe will definitely come back again to try out their menu.
Food was amazing. If the review was based on food alone, I'd give 4.5 stars. Just felt the coffee was a little bitter. Creamy but bitter. My magic coffee with honey and lactose free milk set me back $6.66 on a Sunday. Honey was free according to the ordering site. I could not taste any honey.nnOverall, felt it was on the pricier end of cafes, footing 20% extra on Sunday plus the card surcharge fee. But food was tasty all round. So, if you don't mind paying for quality food, this is a great place to enjoy Asian fusion/inspired cafe food.nnMy biggest gripe occured afterwards. Even though I registered my email on ordering and was informed I would get an invoice of the payment/order, I did not. So splitting the bill afterwards not knowing the weekend surcharge was difficult. The itemised screen after the ordering page showed 10%. But back calculated 20%. I was stumped for a long time working out how to break up the bill with friends. I didn't see the figure advertised anywhere when booking. I was lucky that I made several screenshots through the process, they were my records that I worked backwards to calculate.nnReceipts should be printed if emails cannot be automatically sent via the system. This cost me an hour of head scratching which could have easily been avoided. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Felt like pricing was hidden and not transparent without receipts. Left a sour taste to my previously top notch experience.
The cutest brunch spot with the most delicious pineapple buns! Their iced taro latte is absolutely delicious with a really strong taro taste. Love the kaya toast as well, simple but delicious.
Lovely lunch at a great cafe serving Asian fusion cuisine with welcoming staff. We enjoyed everything we ordered. This is a great cafe and I m so pleased this opened up in East Doncaster so I can have more interesting Asian fusion food cafe choices.nnI ordered my first few orders on Ubereats and today I came down straight from my KX pilates class in Jackson Court and I must say I m not disappointed;nDining area is clean and cosy, lattes are of different choices and they’ve even got different types of street food inspired with South East Asian and HK food.nI ordered the Eggs set and Kaya toast and it was simple but did it just nicely for me!nnFusion inspired foods are definitely something different to look forward to in a cafe setting. I always felt Doncaster East can have more variety of Asian food.nI won’t complain about price, because price is pretty much the same everywhere else in cafes.nI want something simple but different to eat for brunch and Inked Cup did it for me!nI will be trying the savoury porridge next.
