Hyde Park is one of those places in Sydney that I keep coming back to. It’s right in the middle of the city, but somehow it still feels peaceful and spacious. The pathways lined with huge fig trees are beautiful to walk through, especially on a sunny day when the light filters through the branches. Everything is well kept — the lawns, the gardens, even the fountains — and it always feels clean and inviting. I love stopping by the Archibald Fountain or just sitting on a bench people-watching for a bit. It’s the perfect spot to take a break, have lunch, or just unwind for a moment away from the busy streets. A really lovely park that adds so much charm to the city.
Its a beautiful place to slow down after Mass. The peaceful surroundings, tall trees, and open spaces create a calming atmosphere perfect for quiet reflection or a gentle walk. It’s a refreshing pause from the city’s busyness—serene, grounding, and deeply comforting. A lovely spot to sit, breathe, and carry the sense of peace with you.
This is a lovely shady park with the Anzac memorial to one side do visit and the museum station on one corner convenient. There are plenty of bin chicken and gulls to keep you company when picnicking. Right now it’s a bit messy as they are doing some lighting work so expect a little constriction stuff around. The 333 bus to Bondi leaves from the left side if facing Museum Station. Random fact there is a convenience store with a flight simulator that you can book opposite the park’s bullet statue. Another random, but sad fact is that there are non-native poplar trees as a reminder of the trees the ANZAC soldiers would have seen in Europe.
A nice shaded park where you can relax in the middle of the city. We saw some parts fenced up, possibly due to some works being carried out. As a result, some areas were blocked off and the views were not as picturesque. Otherwise, a nice place to relax and get some shade.nnI didn't see a playground for the children and there were no close available toilets within the park. The closest one we found was beside the Hydeaway cafe, which is at the edge of the park. There might have been one at the memorial, which we didn't visit.
Are all the trees in Australia this massive?! I’m absolutely blown away. It’s so rare to see giants like these back home, but here, they’re everywhere. Such a breathtaking experience taking in Australia’s majestic nature!
