Had a stunner meal here and was surprised how fast and great tasting it was. Clean tables and chairs. Friendly staff
Hospitality, from the Latin ‘hospitalis’ - being hospitable. A rainy day in Beaudesert, with no dining-in available at Maccas due to renovations, we thought we’d be a bit cheeky and take our happy meals to HJ, put our 1-year old baby in a high chair so he could have his own snack, and I would buy a coffee. As luck would have it, the franchisee was in the booth next to us, and told my daughter “next time” not to bring outside food as he spent “a million dollars” on his business and we don’t “pay his bills”. He argued that McDonalds was open. He made my daughter feel unwelcome, and we left to eat in the car in the rain. There will never be a “next time” as I will never stop there again on my regular trips; I will share this tale of rude, unfriendly, unnecessary, and inhospitable behaviour widely. He missed a genuine marketing opportunity to capitalise on McD’s renovations. Imagine how different it could have been with a bit of friendly banter and a invitation to come back any time. A lovely lady customer walked out in solidarity and we appreciated that gesture greatly. Without a true understanding of hospitality, a retail business will fail. Appreciation to the barista who made my coffee. We had been admiring the lovely Christmas display in the windows. Such a contrast to the owner’s unpleasant behaviour. He turned a lovely interlude into a stressful and distasteful encounter. I would give zero stars if I could.
I go to hjs Beaudesert all the time, being an employee of hjs for over 5-6 years as an ex manager I know what the standard of the food is meant to be and the food was horrible... the whopper with cheese was gross the chicken patty looked like it had been re dunked in oil about 3 times unless your oil was dirty. Pretty disappointing when I get and open my food when I am home and it looks bad. I did go in the next day to complain as no one picked up the phone previously on that night and then got told when I was complaining to call on the night when I get the food because he wasn't the manager on last night. Doesn't matter if he was on or not he has a duty to make the customer happy I am not sure if I even heard an apology from him and I asked for a replacement meal he did not offer one. Please retrain your managers on appropriate customer service and how to deal with complaints. He wrote my order down and asked my name and said yeah when you come in just say your name and you will get a replacement order.
I went into this store with my mum and my 1 year old son, we had bought some McDonald’s from across the road but couldn’t eat there as they had renovations on. It was raining and my baby needed to eat so we decided to buy some coffee from HJs and sit down. The store owner approached us and made sure we didn’t feel welcome, telling us off for bringing McDonald’s in and going on about how he’s spent millions on his store.nThere were heaps of empty seats available, we had purchased coffee so we were paying customers and had every right to eat there. Why does it matter that we have McDonald’s too? What’s next, you going to say my baby food isn’t allowed either?nHave some empathy and kindness. It’s raining, we have a baby, we made a purchase. You could be welcoming McDonald’s patrons who can’t sit there and be making extra money from the drinks they buy off you. Awful attitude.nnThanks to the lovely lady who walked out in solidarity with us, she said she’d rather eat in the car then support what he did.
When the new owner came in it was great. But honestly in the last 2 months it has slipped back to sub standard again.nOrder n pay for cheese on my whopper juniors, also asked all to b made fresh, it was all coldnGot a replacement, yet again no cheese n missing Burgers.nGot a 3rd replacement n still no cheese. I even went in the third time, sorry but uve lost a customer
