Hugos ManlynnWhen dining at Hugos Manly, I chose to take a ferry from the Sydney Opera House, allowing me to enjoy stunning views before and after my meal.nnOn this visit to Sydney, I would highly recommend Hugos as my top dining spot. Not only is their service exceptionally friendly, but the food is also something I must strongly highlight!nnI ordered a seafood platter, as seen in the picture. The oysters and fish are sashimi-grade, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. The sauces blend perfectly with the food, enhancing its flavors.nnAs for the cooked items, the freshness of the shrimp can be judged by how easily the meat separates from the shell. Here, the seafood is remarkably fresh, giving the impression that it was caught and cooked straight from the harbor—absolutely delicious.nnI would also highly recommend Hugos’ duck breast. It’s seared to perfection, juicy, and tender. Paired with the chef’s special berry sauce, it creates a truly perfect combination.nOf course, if your budget allows, it’s best enjoyed with a glass of fine wine.nnThis experience marked the rewarding conclusion to my trip, celebrating my hard work with delightful flavors.nHugos Manly offers everything—great food, wine, and views. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant when you’re in Sydney to enjoy it to the fullest.nn
Deliciously delicious all around! Great wine list, extra friendly helpful service & impeccable tasting food, Hugo’s is famous for a reason. They’re the very best. BOOK AHEAD OR MISS OUT. Unforgettable food experience. You can’t go wrong.
I feel like I’m the only one who is missing something here. The food was good, but reading all these rave reviews I thought it would be excellent. I also thought we would have excellent service based on these reviews. But the service was almost nonexistent. We literally saw our server twice. Once when we ordered the food, and once when we had to track him down to give us the bill. This is the real reason for the three-star review. The pizzas were fine. Maybe a four out of five. And I’ll talk about the food later, but the service was really quite miserable. The food was delivered, and no one checked to see if it was all we needed. The food delivered by a different server than the one who took our order. They were in a hurry. I would’ve loved to have had another glass of wine, but nobody came by. I understand they were busy, but just a check-in would have been really nice. And again, I had to flag him down to find the check.nnOn to the food.nWe each had a pizza. One of them was the lamb pizza, it was very good, but it could’ve used more meat. The second one was the salmon and caviar pizza. To me, this tasted just like a salmon on a bagel. We were excited about the avocado mousse and the horseradish crème fraîche, but the avocado mousse was just a small ribbon. In fact, you couldn’t really taste it. And the horseradish crème fraîche seemed to be nonexistent. See photo. So. again, the overall effect was just basically salmon and bagel flavor. Nothing special. Both pizzas were covered in rocket. I like rocket, but this was potentially a bit more than each pizza needed. See photo.nnI understand that it was a holiday weekend, and they were quite busy. But it would’ve been nice to have a little bit more attention from the server. And a little bit more attention to some of the toppings on the salmon pizza.nnBeautiful setting though!
Hugo’s is always so yummy! Food is delicious and the atmosphere and service is always top notch. Crab spaghettini is a favourite and all the entrees are also so good!
I believe this place would be best to take family on a weekend brunch.nnWe took the option of sitting outside on a winter autumn's day, and it was beautiful with the water view and people breezing with locals doing a bit of fishing .nnThe kids picked pineapple pizza I know I know, and meat ball pasta. Surprisingly, not much was left behind for the cleaners.nnThe liver pate and seafood platter were perfect with the Chablis.nnThe location was great for a walk around the promenade and the weekend market.
