The food was absolutely delicious. Despite the service being well below average, I would recommend dining here just to experience the food. It may be a little overpriced, but you'd think it's due to its location and views, so I'd still go back for more. We ordered the calamari, potato gnocchi and spaghetini.. The calamari was perfectly cooked with the lightest batter. The potato gnocchi had quite a bit of flavours and they all complemented each other. The best dish was definitely the crab spaghetini. I don't normally eat crab type pastas but it was so light, fresh and delicious it was my favourite dish. I would highly recommend eating here, and probably go out of my way to tell people to eat there.
Lovely spot at Manly Wharf, Hugo's is certainly a place to dine when in Manly. Would definitely need a booking for lunch or dinner especially weekends.nnThe food was delicious. Ordered some oysters which were huge and fresh. The yellow fin entree was really nice a must try. Also had some king prawns which were cooked very well. For mains we ordered the squid ink pasta, serving was a bit small but adequate and flavourful.nnAlso ordered cocktails which were pricey but yummy. Overall the price is on the higher range but you are also paying for the view. In my opinion, The best time to go would be dinner to watch the sunset. Service was also good, the staff are pretty friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back again.
Modest menu with limited vegetarian options. Food was good as were the quality of the cocktails and service.nnBeautiful location with sublime views and ambience. Sitting by the window we had the best of both worlds. Clear weather would have made outdoor seating perfect.
We stopped in for a late lunch after a day at the beach. We didn’t have a reservation but as it was nearing 2pm we were able to be seated and the restaurant began to clear at it approached 2:30pm. Lunch times are super busy though.nThe fish and chips are really good, the portion size is very generous and can definitely feed two people. The calamari was also really good, and again very generous so it’s a good idea to order 2 dishes for 3 people and ask for share plates which seems to be the norm. At first glance the price for the fish n chips seems a bit pricey however the quality and portion size is justified.nThe cocktail list is extensive as is the wine list.nBeautiful views out to the water if you can snag an outdoor table or anything by the window.
We went there for a 40th birthday for about 10 people and the staff were wonderful. The atmosphere is fantastic. The drinks were okay but lacked a little bit of bartender flare. The food however was below expectation by a substantial amount. As for Italian pizza it was probably in the mid to low range of enjoyability and I only had a piece. In general they are more concerned about margins than having an actual authentic experience or having high quality food. I think that they should strike a balance between having some character and being a general offering because I know they do approximately 1200 tables a night.nnI wouldn't recommend this place to come for dinner although we didn't try the mains I wouldn't be excited to actually venture. It's a great place to come and enjoy the scenery and have a couple of generic drinks. In general I suggested that they should have a cocktail menu which is in stated after they become less busy because overall things are fairly standardized.nnWe spent 200 per head and got a couple glasses of wine and some really terrible pizza out of it. The desserts were tasty and the appetizers were reasonable. In general they didn't deliver on the food. The food was really two stars as a result so that's as high as I can rate the entire restaurant as I won't be back.
