A balcony seat became available, so we moved there and ordered recommended beers and food for the 5pm happy hour. We asked the cheerful, lively staff for samples of several varieties and chose what suited our mood that day.nnThe fried food was a bit greasy, perhaps not properly dried, but it paired perfectly with a crisp, refreshing beer and a fruity one? No problem. We had a lovely time chatting with the group seated next to us.

The fries were a standout — hot, crispy, and cooked just right.nThis is a must-visit spot for anyone traveling to Manly or Sydney from overseas. You won’t be disappointed. He remembered what I liked, made great recommendations, and really went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and enjoying myself. What stood out most was his personality: he’s warm, genuine, funny, and clearly loves what he does. You can tell he takes real pride in his work, and it makes the whole atmosphere of the bar feel better because of it.nnAlf isn’t just good at his job — he makes the entire experience feel special. Staff like him are the reason people come back. Four Pines is incredibly lucky to have someone with his character, passion, and care on the team.

Silky smooth stout, and what a vibe at this place! Bustling with people making lively conversation, we sat here for a drink and break from the long walk to Manly and enjoyed every minute of it. Would've loved to have more beers which were some of the more affordable ones we've seen in Sydney.
