Where history comes alive!
A New Zealand fencible village illustrating the 1840-1880 period, with costumed guides, authentic furniture displayed in the buildings, chickens and ducks in the village pond and renowned heritage gardens. The village comes to life the third sunday in the month, costumed characters inhabit the cottages, a blacksmith lights his forge and soldiers fire their guns!
To enlighten and stimulate awareness for a better understanding of our local heritage and culture by presenting the history of early Auckland, particulary village life in a fencible settlement during the perio 1840-1880.
