We spent a good few hours here with my 6 and 7 year old and could have stayed longer . Took our picnic lunch in and had it at one of the picnic tables in the village . Full of history and information . As it was the school holidays They had a holiday timetable of activities and kids can watch demonstrations etc and Kids got a look and find activity book . The staff were so friendly and helpful and we finished off with some cold beverages from the lovely cafe where the staff are also super and the food looked delicious. There is also a lovely gift store that is reasonably priced and stocks lovely things . I would really recommend this place to visit for all ages and it was our favourite outing of the school holidays .

Love this place so much! Must visit if you come visit Auckland. You can see a lot of historical story and the replica of homes from 1840s when the English people first come to Auckland. Visit on Monday - Thursday and you can experience dressing up and bring you back to old time.

Can't believe I have lived in Auckland for years and never been here. Visited today with hubby and 2 kids (6 and 5) and granddad and we all loved it. It was so interesting and the kids learned so much. They loved looking at the old tools and machinery etc and figuring out what they were for and how people used to live. We all loved exploring. Will definitely visit again.
