Zwei unserer Kinder benötigten einen neuen Reisepass und mussten dafür 498 Dollar bezahlen. Der Service war sehr freundlich und sie wurden auch auf Kosten hingewiesen. Ihnen wurde gesagt, sie könnten froh sein, dass sie weniger als 24 Jahre alt sind (Pässe nur sechs Jahre gültig), anderenfalls sei es noch teurer. Wir sind eine sechs-köpfige Familie und waren natürlich schockiert über diese Preise. Jetzt wissen wir auch, wie diese Preise zustande kommen. Die deutsche Botschaft in Wellington berechnet 99 Dollar pro Pass. Der Honorar-Konsul addiert dazu noch einmal jeweils 150 Dollar. Jetzt wo wir Bescheid wissen, werden wir demnächst lieber nach Wellington fliegen.
