I’ve been here before to buy an alcoholic drink called Soju so I went back there this Saturday afternoon to repurchase some for a house warming, the woman asked for my ID. I understood her reasoning as I often get asked, I only turned 18 this year. I had left the physical copy of my drivers license in my car so I used mySAgov app on my phone, she didn’t even look when I showed her and she refused to serve me because I didn’t have my physical copy. She insisted that I wasn’t 18, shouting at me. I walked out, she humiliated me and it was so frustrating because I was being honest. I’m sorry if the store’s poor service is uncommon but as a Foodland worker, I would never be so unkind to a customer, if I had to decline, I would be polite about it.
Not the most pleasant shopping experience. Shop was untidy as if not cleaned in months, some items were way past expiry and the organisation was poor making it hard to find anything. Staff not friendly or welcoming and was overcharged with no receipt given. Not going back here for sure
Not the most friendliest and knowledgeable staff. Asked about the difference between the 2 type of canned abalones that they carried and was told there's not difference. Turned out one is from the US and the more expensive one is from Australia....how is it possible that the staff not knowing what they sell....major failure for a shop.
Be careful how much did you pay before you walk out the shop. The receipt always showed the wrong money, wrong items and they could overcharge you. Also the cashier is never help costumer bagging their stuff. No price tags on every items or shelves is so annoying as well.
The variety of Asian foods there is great but I wasn't pleased with their customer service, while I was checking out the cashier looked unbothered and didn't even bother to say hi. I understand that they must be having a bad day but what was worse was when I misunderstood how much money I was supposed to pay. She spoke Chinese and said $71 dollars which I mistook for $41 to which she repeated in English in a really rude tone like I was dumb or something. Right after that she just dumped my things into a bag to which I was rushed to put my money away as she started to serve other customers. REALLY RUDE. This is not the first time that I've met rude staff members. I hope this grocery really contemplates who they employ before they start losing customers.
As a regular customer here, I love to shop at this place. However, today my shopping experience was bad. I went to the shop with three shopping bags. When I was putting the groceries on the counter next to the cashier I put 5 bunches of veggies which occupied the whole space and waiting for the cashier to scan my items I still have things in my bag waiting to pay, there was a lady with black long hair approach me said she would like to check my bag. I showed her the bag on my shoulder with receipt from other shop, and she wanted to check other bags. I showed her another empty one, and then she would like to check the bag with the items still waiting to be paid. I haven't get the chance to put my groceries up to the counter because she was talking to me I told her that this bag need to be paid. This lady confirmed with me for the second time, then she went to back of the cashier. When I was finally able to keep going with the check out, I saw the black long hair lady hold her mobile phone with camera facing towards me in about 1 m distance. I am not judging this behavior but I don't know what she was doing. I can totally understand that the shop wants to prevent the theft and would like to check the bag, but can you please do this after check out. It makes no sense that you check my bag while I am still putting things on the counter. The way I have been questioning by the lady was very unpleasant. Please use common sense and hopefully the shop owner can improve this situation in the future.
I passed over the shop many times and wondered whether I should get shopping there. Last week I stepped in and purchased a bag of green team pumpkin kernel. It tastes like rotten wood.
Staff not too helpful. Plenty of stock, a good range, but a bit untidy. Just walk up down the aisles to find what you're looking for. Very little written in the English language. Ok if you speak Chinese.
I go here usually as they have a range of products, tea eggs and fresh buns. Today I asked the young lady for pork bun went home and found out it's custard bun, bit sad Customer service is fine for me, but I did notice the cashier lady seems to be annoyed when answering queries when a lady customer was asking her if they have an item in stock in non peak hours
Asian grocery in Chinatown. Has a large variety of Asian foods as well as some western brands. All types of sauces, noodles, herbs and spices as well as meats, frozen foods and Asian soft drinks. A bit cramped inside and you have to have an idea of what you are looking for, but will probably have anything you are looking for.
