A beautifully decorated venue with a light and fresh feel. The waitstaff were wonderful and nice but unfortunately the wait time for food was so long even though there were only a handful of tables. I would have forgiven the wait time if the food wasn’t so bland and under seasoned. We ordered a mix of dishes to sample the menu, our stand out was the porterhouse steak which was cooked perfectly but the chips and side salad were not seasoned at all. The lamb shoulder sounded very inviting but we ultimately decided not to order it because of the 45 minute cook time. Considering we waited over and hour for our mains, we should have just ordered the lamb!
Great food but very very small portions & $$ Food is actually extremely delicious and cooked with the right temperature,unfortunately i was disappointed that the salad that came with the steak does not even include any work Just baby rockets and it was $39 for not even tender piece of meat. The place itself is also very well designed and you feel comfortable sitting there for a long time The place is also dog friendly and you can take your dogs upstairs
The beef tartare was really good, beer and wine good as usual, yummy chimichurri but the Sunday roast a bit of a disappointment... the roasted rump was mostly fatty and the portion quite tiny. I would recommend to go for any other option.
Came with a group of 11. Ordered 4 streaks, 3 roasts amongst other meals. The rib eye 500gram steaks were over priced $80, well under cooked for a medium rare and majority fat and tendons. 3 roast pork dishes were pink and well under cooked. Ordering took for ever and service was no one upstairs for service. Will definitely not be returning.

New Locals to Williamstown after buying our hm & a walk down to Hobson Bay Hotel. Such a great experience & view from the rooftop was amazing. Service was 10/10 making our 1st experience so memorable. The food also 10/10 from the beef tartar & Parma. We will be regulars for sure.
Food is excellent here. Not your typical pub. Modern and a notch about the rest. $55 set menu was pricy for a group but generous and each dish delicious. Chicken and ceviche fish stand outs. Will be back. View from roof top stunning.
Soft Shell Crab Sliders Garlic Flat Bread, Whipped Ricotta, Bottarga Burrata, Woodfired Peppers Striploin Steak Special Roasted Kipfler Potatoes, Garlic Fried Artichokes, Romesco Sauce Marlin, Onion Puree, Greens Special Hobsons Bay Hotel is a multi-story venue for any occasion, featuring a Pub Bar, Restaurant and Rooftop Bar with sweeping views of the city. It is brought to you by Brenton Lang founder @rustica_hq and head chef Ben Pigott Ex- @supernormal_180, @stokehouserestaurants, @cumulusinc. It was a beautiful sunny day so we arrived an hour early for our dinner to begin with some rooftop drinks, only to find out it was closed during the week until further notice due to renovations. This is something that should definitely be mentioned on their socials or website. We were able to begin our seating early which was a plus. I love how beautifully renovated the dining room is, so moody and warm. The Beer menu is impressive, a good selection of classics but also plenty of craft beers. It’s hard to sway me from a Chilli Margarita and this one definitely had a good sense of jalapeños. What was good: We loved the tasty Grilled Flatbread with Whipped Ricotta and the Soft Shell Crab Sliders were so juicy and full of flavour. The lightly Fried Artichokes were the perfect snack. The not so good: The Burrata was so disappointing, there was no oozing Straciatella inside when we cut it open, it was just a hard ball of Mozzerella. Therefore, there was no use for the accompanying bread. For some reason we decided to both opt for the Specials. It was $25 Steak Night, we found the Sirloin a little tough and the sauce watery. The Fish of the Day was Marlin paired with a very strong onion purée. I would recommend Hobsons Bay Hotel for drinks and snacks at the Rooftop Bar when permitted.
