What a fantastic day. My wife and family brought me a R22 discovery day for my birthday, which was a great present. The welcome from Mike and the team was brilliant. Two hours flying and the remainder of the day was classroom training. I wish everyone at Hummingbird Helicopters every success in the future. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience with a great instructor. Been wanting to try rotary for such a long time and it didn't disappoint. Great location, clear instructions, made to feel welcome at the briefing so 5 star before even in the helicopter. The flight itself was simply awesome - Very Happy Indeed Thanks Mike
My family bought me a 15-minute flight experience for my birthday, and what an experience! Thought I would be nervous but I was just very excited. Both Mike and my pilot Callum were extremely welcoming, informative and very friendly. The whole experience was amazing and it's something I shall never forget. Even if I hopefully have another helicopter flight this will always stay with me as a very special time. Still can't get the smile from my face! Would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks, guys, for your time. Lovely to meet you all and hope to do so again some time in the future.
I have just finished three days of training with the boys at Hummingbird. What a brilliant experience! Instructors Simon Wiles and Michael Hall run a tight ship, both consummate professionals, but warm and friendly guys at heart. The instruction is of an exceptionally high standard. The school operates two Robinson 22s, one of which is brand spanking new and is dressed in that sexy metallic grey one usually sees on an Aston Martin. She is an absolute beauty! Doncaster airfield poses a new level of challenge with a higher level of procedures and RT, ideal for those with an eye on the higher qualifications. Not to mention that the 737 which taxied behind still tickles me with delight. The school is housed in two offices, the facilities are modern, convenient and very tidy. The atmosphere at the school is personal, both boys were keen to help with whatever challenges I faced on the day, even if it took some repeating. I must say that I really enjoyed my short visit to Hummingbird and I have no hesitation in recommending this school.
My wife got me a helicopter flight experience with Hummingbird helicopters with Simon the pilot. It had been cancelled twice due to covid. But Mike was very very helpful. Simon was a very experienced pilot and was able to answer all my questions and was able to reassure me off any worries I had. It was the best day out in my life,not kidding It was fantastic and I will be back,hopefully on a monthly basis. Both Simon and Michael are a credit to Hummingbird Helicopters you couldn't meet a nicer more helpful pair of workers. I can't recommend them highly enough...5 Star service all the way..well done guys....
Can not recommend hummingbird helicopters enough , our son was 17year old when he started flying lessons with them , they have instructed and advised him all along the way and he feels confident and totally at ease with all their instructors, special praise for Mike and SImon who have always been very approachable and professional, josh is now over half way through His ppl and loves it . What a totally brilliant experience! I had a thorough preflight chat and briefing before my 45 minute trial lesson with a very friendly and totally professional instructor. I have never flown a helicopter and he talked me through every aspect of the controls individually before letting me put it all together and get to feel the basics of flying the lovely helicopter...with lots of gentle advice and hints along the way. I would absolutely recommend a trial lesson at Hummingbird. Everyone there was so helpful and friendly ...a wonderful gift for my birthday and an unforgettable day!!
Thoroughly enjoyed my flight lesson with Matt, especially the feel of actually controlling the helicopter. A good combination of a very experienced pilot and a gifted instructor.
On Saturday, we had the pleasure of taking part in a helicopter lesson/flight with Hummingbird Helicopters Ltd. I had booked my husbands last year as a surprise for him. I didn't know, until he'd taken his lesson, that he had booked one for me too as a double surprise. I couldn't allow my female wimpy side to show and I'm glad I didn't. Andy, our Pilot, went along with this brilliantly and we both enjoyed an amazing experience in the skies. Neither of us had been in the air before and I was nervous but that didn't last long because Andy was so friendly and professional. We loved it and our certificates and little bottle of Prosecco at the end of our flight finished off an amazing day for us. I can't recommend Hummingbird highly enough. We're hoping that one of our sons can enjoy something similar to us next year. If you want a memory to remember, in the best of ways, you will love this experience. Amazing and friendly people who will make sure you love every minute of it.
Decided to treat myself to an hour trial/ experience in a helicopter & I came across Hummingbird, I was really nervous but the guys we very welcoming & made me feel at ease. After a short & sweet classroom session explaining the basics we went on to the airfield where Floris talked me through the pre-flight check & safety procedures. I was surprised when Floris asked where I would like to go, I assumed it would be a pre-set route but I was given the choice, we flew out towards the Humber bridge following the river I've got some amazing photo's. Floris let me take over the aircraft one control at time until I was comfortable, I couldn't believe how much I time I spent at the controls. After showing the capabilities of the aircraft we headed for home where I was given the chance to hover which turns out to be really difficult although he made it look easy. Upon return Floris answered all my questions & gave me a ton of advice regarding flying, training, medicals etc. I would recommend Hummingbird to everyone, a friendly & highly professional bunch. Thank you Floris, Mike & Rob.
