My first visit to this centre, the hygienist and the dentist were excellent - professional, thorough and helpful. I had x-rays in addition to the check-up / clean and despite the size of the practice and the no. of patients being seen at the same time, it was all carried out so efficiently. Despite my teeth feeling clean & fresh at the end of my appointment, one thing that left a bitter taste in my mouth was the attitude of the receptionist. She was pretty horrible, actually. It’s such a shame because everyone else was so kind and professional. If it wasn’t for her, I would have considered my experience to be worthy of 5 stars.
Had to book several months in advance to get an appointment. When my appointment was close I get a message saying the dentist needs to reschedule because of covid. Ok no problem, I wait another three weeks. I go to the appointment, the technician is very friendly but the dentist was rude and went to town on my teeth and gums on the cleaning. My teeth were fine and didn't need any fillings or work done but the amount of pressure they put on my mouth while cleaning I had to rinse a bunch of blood, jesus it's a dental appointment you're not scraping barnacles off the hull of a freaking boat.
This is not a review of the practice itself, as I am unable to get through to make an appointment. I have twice waited for twenty minutes on the phone, which is unacceptable.
Absolutely shocking service, staff was EXTREMELY rude in the phone, to book an appointment to see Dr Song because i have a bad root infection so I've been put on a ''waiting list'' for a month and half so far in which im unable to get an appointment or callback for a date. Third world country service from HCF Thinking about cancelling.
This review is purely for the abysmal “service” I received from the receptionist, and is not a reflection on the dentists or hygienists themselves. I’ve been visiting This dental Clinic for 5 years and they have always been wonderful and professional. After waiting a considerable amount of time in the queue, I asked the receptionist if I could make an appointment to which she rudely and loudly said “NO APPOINTMENTS FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR” to which I responded: “can I please make an appointment for next year then?” To which she barked in my face “WHAT’S YOUR HCF NUMBER” I said I didn’t have it on me, to which she again yelled - “STEP ASIDE SO I CAN SERVE OTHERS” I appreciate she was very busy with lots of customers waiting, that I should have had my membership number ready and also that we all have off days - but I’ve never had anyone in health service or at anytime speak to me in such an inexcusably rude way. Please fix your manners or don’t work in customer service. Horrible experience for a loyal HCF member
After 6 days my review gets deleted with no formal response. Very odd indeed. let me repeat myself so others can get a transparent view which is unbiased. Its not so much the staff but the system. Been a member for over a decade. Spend close to $1600 per annum and close to $20k over the past decade on premiums only to have a lackadaisical ten minute express check up and clean this morning which lacked professionalism. Booked an appointment with the hygienist almost a month in advance. Got a call this morning en route to say the hygienist has called in sick and they’d be able to accommodate me with another dentist which is fair. It feels as if they’ve done half a job yet still charge a premium on my membership. Just heard another customer attend this morning to say that they were fully booked – this customer had an emergency dental problem. They told him that they are unable to specify a wait time… Not sure where customers funds are going to. There really has to be an inquiry info private health funds. Happy to discuss.
Being a health fund member, thought I would give it a try to compare with the experience I get from my normal dentist. Had standard checkup and clean and the usual x-ray. The staff were efficient, friendly and communicated well and gave a few tips to look after your teeth. Including fluoride treatment, clean and polish and x-ray, the bill came to $442 with no gap to pay but it's higher than my normal dentist $412 with $68 gap to pay. The whole thing took less than 30mins to complete vs 1hr my normal experience. It felt rushed, in a production line environment, as though they had more patients to see. I think I would keep my usual dentist just to be safe!
The reception is the worse not very helpful and rushing through making appointments wrong and not long enough for the actual service the Denist wants to provide The female Denists and assistants are lovely and very good I had one horrible male Denist but he is gone now Overall good
It’s really great on their extras cover to be able to go in gap free. The only issue I had was my original dentist left and the next dentist I got was so rough I had gum pain for a few days after. The first time I thought it was because I didn’t floss enough, but I went back for my next checkup to the second dentist again and after flossing everyday and having no irritation in my gums, it hurt just as much. It’s awesome that HCF lets you choose which dentist you want so if you’re going here and you don’t like the dentist you get, I’d recommend asking for a different one :
I have been using this dental centre for several years and have never had an issue with the staff or dentist's here. Being a HCF member the work carried out here is covered under my account leaving me with no gap to pay, location is in a very convenient spot, the facilities are very modern clean and up to date. Will continue to return. Feedback to the centre for time savings 1 Pre send customers the Medical History form prior to arrival via an electronic method or integrate with the HCF App as I fill this form our every time and nothing has changed in my history which seems like a wasted process 2 Stop asking customers what dentist they are here to see, just ask for membership number and sort it out. I get a different dentist every time so I don't keep track nor do other customers that I have witnessed this morning
