A last minute dinner decision was well worth it!! Large serves, fabulous service and absolutely delicious food. Some of the best Indian food we've ever had. The perfect amount of spice and authentic flavour. Would recommend to anybody heading to the Sunshine Coast for a holiday. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Beautiful meal, staff were just lovely and very attentive. The peshwari naan was the best we have ever had, and we eat at Indian restaurants A LOT!! A definite favourite on our next visit to the Sunshine Coast. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves Indian cuisine. One of us is vegetarian, the other is not. Menu catered a good selection for both of us. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you again. Vegetarian options: Good selection! Nice for a change that vegetarians do not get left out which is often the case in European establishments.
Food was nice and well presented. My issue is with their robust refusal to understand that the sandwich board outside the shop is deceptive. It offers a family special for $88, but after you are seated and ask for that, they advise that it is for take-away only, something the signage doesn't mention. Regrettably this disagreement dominated the dining experience and hence this review. The OTHER side of the board DOES say takeaway for a different special, but not both. If you approached the shop from the south and never saw the other side, you'd only see this offer which says nothing about takeway. First the waitress argued that the sign DID say Takeaway it doesn't, then the girl at the bar wanted to justify it, then even the manager couldn't grasp that this was 'deceptive and misleading', only being interested in establishing that I was aware it was only for takeaway BEFORE I placed my order, and I chose to stay, so what's the problem. He is either totally clueless, or totally aware but refusing to concede, and will just keep this practice in place because he knows that once somebody is seated and decided what they want to eat, few people will get up and leave, they will take it on the chin. Nonetheless, deceptive either way. Being treated like I'm an idiot by a conman and his staff isn't cool. We won't be back.
I recently visited Hathi Indian Restaurant in Alexandra Headland and was pleasantly surprised by the nice vibe there. The food was delicious and made for a great celebration of my mother's birthday. Although I've only been there once, I would definitely recommend giving it a try
I haven't been here for a couple of years, used to love the outdoor area with the water feature, which sadly isn't used anymore. We booked for a 6.30pm seating and although only one other table was occupied, we were placed next to the counter and traffic to kitchen. It was very loud, bright and not private for a couple on a night out. It took 50 mins for our food to arrive, after having to ask 40mins in. The phones rang constantly, for a very long time, at a very loud volume. If there isn't any intention to answer them then turn them down or put them on hold. This is very unprofessional to have seated guests put up with this. It was evident that your take away were more important, with many casually dressed user drivers and take away ordering guests standing around the inside of the restaurant. It is not cold outside and would be better for your dining guests to have them wait outside or provide a seating area. As there were many empty tables space to put seating. Would be good if your booking site allowed guests to chose the table they want also. I would not recommend Hathi to anyone any more. Besides that the food was good, but there is better.
Shocked at the service. Collecting a takeaway for the first time ever and i may as well have been invisible. Standing for 10-15 minutes at the reservation desk by the front door. 5 members of staff, not one acknowledgement. Oh they looked at me. Obviously straight though me though. Nothing. Not even a smile. Standing like a lemon waiting to be seen to. Then I ther customers came in and went straight to the counter and was served before myself even though they knew I was there and waiting. Now I’m convinced I’m invisible. Only to find out there was an ‘unsigned’ designated area for takeaway collection, where food was sitting on a shelf only to get cold. I won’t be back. I’ve never written a bad review in my life. Yet this deserved it
Disappointing. Waited nearly an hour for our food. Meanwhile about 30 UberEats and takeaways got their food before us. Dishes were not piping hot, rice was cold. Hathi used to be a family favourite restaurant for many years - we won't be back.
We order our food at 6:00 and food has just arrived at 7:40. The service is terrible, just standing in front of us and may as well have just thrown the food at us at this point the egg that we had was green. do not recommend this place to anyone will not be coming back. thanks for the terrible service really appreciate it!!!
Excellent tasting food and a large menu to select from. We dined in and were the first table for the night, but still had to wait 40 minutes despite lots of takeaway coming through. If you want people to dine in, you need to be mindful of them please. Will be back.
Foods always great. Only issue is orderomg over the phone. Last 3 visits we've had the wrong Nann bread and communication is with taking orders is horrible. Really need someone on the phones who actually are fluent with english.
