Fresh and clean , friendly service nice food, tasty hanger steak. Beer was awful sadly, sour.
Delightful cafe, using locally seriously local - like in the adjoining section! grown berries. The views to the northeast are amazing, as the place is situated on a hill. There’s now a kids’ playground outside and some recently added outdoor dining spaces. Not too busy when I visited, so I’m hoping this place manages to survive and stay open as it’s a good 15 minutes off the main highway.
Amazing!!!! We all finished every crumb of our meals fish, steak, lamb and it was beyond delish. Sensational vibrant flavours, fab presentation. The staff were helpful, friendly and the right amount of attentive. Would go back in a heartbeat to sample everything. Just ordered desert because If the meals were that good...
Great setting with views for miles, awesome staff, and the meal was brilliant, the use of flavors were top notch. This has to be the best place I've dined at in the last two years and if I'm ever back in this part of the country will be making a trip back to try the other food on the menu.
Waiting staff seem to lack experience therefore lacking in confidence. However, generally felt the experience was enjoyable. Beautiful setting with lovely views over Waimate and out to the sea. There could be improvements but overall I enjoyed the afternoon
Had a wonderful meal. Great service from friendly and attentive staff. Best Rack if Lamb I have ever tasted, the date couscous that it rested on was a delight. Mango and vanilla bean panacotta mmmmh yummy.
Great views and handy new playground for kids. Sadly service is consistantly poor. A number of times they have forgotten part of an order and if a waitress and not the manager is serving you there is no ownship of it being a problem that you , for example, get the toast for your soup after your soup is finished. Waitresses are poorly trained in customer service - e.g they will start talking to each other when one is dealing with a customer and make the customer wait for them to finish. If you turn up an hour before they close most of the chairs will be up and they will be cleaning making you feel unwelcome. Overall you don't feel valued as a customer. Cabinet food and hot drinks are standard cafe prices. Although it is no secret that slices are defrosted and not always fresh. The meals are overpriced but can be yummy.
Arrived on a Tuesday morning at 9.30am expecting a lovely breakfast and friendly smile ! Well how wrong we were!!! For starters there was no open sign so thought it was closed may as well have been went in and was greeted by a sour looking employee who must have not known the polite way to greet someone with a simple Good morning!! Anyway we asked for a breakfast menu and were told they didn’t start cooking until 11am ! Had not one single thing in the cabinets to eat so we presume that this establishment only serves coffee or tea from 9 till 11am ! Anyway we took the 10 min drive down to cafe nosh and was greeted with the lovely aroma of delightful delicious cooking food and cabinets filled to the brim !! Beautiful eggs Bene and our wee tummy’s were full !! Sorry harvest cafe but your loss is another’s gain ! If your a cafe you should have food !
Have just been here for lunch , we both had the sirloin steak, and it was absolutely the best meal I have had out in a long time, you could have cut the steak with a fork it was so tender, a very nice salad and crunchy chips , I would totally recommend it , and best of all not expensive , Top class , well done team!
Really pleasant, good pricing. The views here across the plains to the sea are worth while. Head up the hill from the township. It's worthwhile.
