My husband and I went for brunch on Saturday morning; after a recommendation from a local. We had friendly, fast service despite it being busy. We had the Harbourmaster brekky and couldn't eat it all. Good coffee too. Highly recommended, and would be a regular if we were local.
We love HMC coffee which is made with their own locally produced blend. The egg and bacon brioche was delicious and very reasonably priced. The location right beside the river is amazing. When the Spirit goes past it is so close you feel like you could just about touch it.
A delicious breakfast with awsome views of waterfront n Spirit of Tasmania Ship. Options to sit inside/outside. Great Service from lovely staff.

This restaurant is very egg and bacon oriented. I have a distinct dislike for these food ingredients. So I was left with nothing to my liking. However the Chef was prepared to modify a steak sandwich for me. To be honest it was one of the best I have tasted. If you are interested, it was steak, tomato, lettuce, relish, mushroom and sweet peppers. Nice balance of flavours with no one component dominating the taste experience. So if you visit the Harbour Masters in Devonport, and nothing screams out "eat me", have chat with the helpful staff and they will do their best to assist.
A HIDDEN GEM! My partner and I stumbled across the Harbourmaster Cafe whilst trying to decide on a venue for lunch. They did not disappoint! A prime location with a relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. The staff were all very attentive and welcoming. The iced chocolates had delicious fresh creamy ice cream and cream with a perfect blend of chocolate. The steak sandwich had all fresh ingredients with tender steak and crunchy waffle fries. Everything about the lunch was faultless. Highly recommend the Harbourmaster Cafe to all!
Been here several times, service, good & drink always of a high quality. Today took my vegan girlfriend whom they accommodated without a second thought. Something for everyone, and a fantastic view of the river!
Expected more of this place due to previous reviews. The Frittata was the saltiest thing I have eaten in years. I was thirsty for the rest of the day. Considering the size of the serve it was way overpriced. This is not exactly an expensive product to produce and it was tough around the edges, indicating it was certainly not baked that day. The water bottle was greasy on the outside, showing it needed a good hot soapy wipe!
Excellent food. Beautiful views. The service friendly. A private function which was so enjoyable. The walk to toilet could be lit up a bit better.
