Story

Hello.... my name is Julie Tomlinson and after more than 25 years running successful Nail and Beauty Salons in Melbourne, I now focus exclusively on servicing my fabulous private clients.

My clients repeatedly tell me what they value most about my business is:

I only use premium quality products such as authentic Creative Nail Design (CND) products and the full range of genuine Shellac colours so you will not be in any danger from harmful or sub-standard cheaper products.

My clients are very special to me which is why my mission is always to help you to 'Be Your Beautiful Best!'

Manicures, pedicures, waxing, facials - this is the place to go. Adjacent to a house, it doesn't have the clinical feel that some salons have, and Julie (owner) is lovely, with a wicked sense of humour! 😊 She's highly trained and very experienced, so you can trust her with acrylic or gel nails, shellac, and all the rest of which I'll spare you the details! It's not the cheapest, but you do get the quality and attention that you pay a bit extra for. I've been going to this salon for over 10 years, and wouldn't go anywhere else.

I visit my Sydney acrylic nail technician every fortnight and have done so for 18 years, so when I needed to be in Melbourne for 6 weeks I had to find someone as good.  I have a very strict criteria - must use Creative Product and must hand file - no electric files for me.

I put my criteria into Google and a few names came up but the numbers either didn't answer or had terrible voicemails.  I finally came across Julie and after a brief conversation decided to book 3 appointments, despite the fact her salon was 30 minutes away from where I was staying.  Worth every kilometre and every minute of the travel.

Julie is truly professional and crafts her art well.  Her studio is spotless and a beautiful space in which to be pampered.  I also booked myself for a pedicure and if time had allowed I would surely have booked a facial, perhaps even a massage.  

I thoroughly enjoyed Julie's warmth and the many conversations we  shared over the 6 weeks I was in Melbourne.  I will definitely use Julie's services again when in Melbourne and highly recommend her to you.

I have now been going to Hands of Elegance for 12 years - must be nearing 150 visits at Julie's three different locations.  McIlwraith Street is the best - ample parking, great salon and the usual fantastic service.  It is a one stop shop for nails, waxing, eyebrows, manicures and pedicures and facials.  The best bit is that Julie is a sole practitioner so you always know she will be doing your treatments.  She is professional, thorough and very skilled.   You leave feeling spoiled.

Having been talked into trying acrylic nails I have never looked back.  They are elegant, natural looking and ensure my hands always look well cared for and manicured.
