I've had the Japanese curry with pork a couple times as well as the katsudon. Terrible. I would say 85%~ is rice in both dishes. I only went back as benefit of the doubt. In terms of the pork loin cutlet curry, i think the sauce used for the pork is different to the one used for chicken. I personally don't like it, it tastes somewhat burnt but others may like it. The pork itself was what threw me off completely. Or what little of it I got. It's a 2mm yes i measured thin piece of extremely cheap pork loin of some sort that has been FOLDED to make it look thicker when fried. I understand that pork loin when tenderised can be thin but this was ridiculous. Additionally, it could be because I had it takeaway and the steam making the crust soggy, but the crust just fell off the meat without any pressure. You could hold the meat up and the crust just fell off. This didn't happen with the chicken. So altogether, 85% rice + bad tasting sauce + terrible cheap meat + bad crust. If you want good quality pork meat, could go to Kotosanpo albeit more expensive. With the chicken katsudon, it was slightly better but still a no. The meat was better quality, actually looked like chicken and was thicker. BUT there was hardly any at all. Extremely little and most of the 'cutlet' you get is just fried bits of nothingness. 80% rice but what makes this one worse than the pork curry, is that there was hardly any sauce. Hardly or none. Every mouthful felt like 80% plain rice + 10% fried nothingness + 10% egg. You could say the food is reasonably cheap, but I still think there's no value in it. The place used to be good, but it's definitely cut back on quality. Save your money otherwise understand that you're mainly paying for the rice. If you still decide to eat here, out of the options i've tried the katsudons and curries, then i would opt for the chicken katsucurry. Atleast with the traditional Japanese Curry sauce, you could finish the mountain of rice if you're that desperate.
I always enjoys Chicken Katsudon from Hanaichi. Friendly service, pretty quick to serve the meals too.Food: 5/5
$16.4 Wagyu premium curry with rice. A few pieces of Packaged frozen diced beef, what a scam!
I had food poisoning after I ate the karaage curry and edamame soup - it is also the only thing I ate yesterday. STILL SICK TODAY.
Worse service. Today I bought 4 takeout chicken currys, when I received the order I asked for a bag and the reply from one of the ladies that took my order was ^ to provide a plastic bag you need to purchase the bag for 1 cent^. Never going back again to that place.
I've always enjoyed hanaichi for a quick and filling meal. I'm happy that they now do a tofu curry. the rice is always fluffy. they usually have a drink special too if you order a main.
The food never disappoint. Well I only order Chicken Curry, Kay's Chicken, Pork Miso-don and Pork Katsudon. Service is friendly and always with a smile even though this place gets really busy. Deducted one star because the the plastic spoons hurt so much to use! The edge is so sharp so every time you take a mouth full it feels like blades cutting your lips and mouth. But good job!
Ordered Take out. Curry was ok. The chopsticks looked mouldy. I didn't dare to use them.Food: 3/5
Sushi is just as good as Sushi Edo, but a bit more expensive. Atmosphere wise, it's not really a ‘fine’ Japanese restaurant.
Japanese curry w/ tofu is really really yummm, this was my order the other day : just make sure that it's actually tofu because one time I ordered and I got chicken :/
