Super friendly staff! Generous-monstrous portion sizes! Noodles in Black Bean Sauce were so goooood, the flavour was spot on, texture of the noodles was perfection! The Sweet and Sour Pork Sirloin was another banga, crispy batter with a solid sauce. You're guaranteed to leave this place pregnant with a food baby and a food coma.Food: 5/5

Fried Boneless Chicken, medium with Soy Garlic $20.00 REVIEW: Han Guuk Guan is a cosy restaurant, which screams authentic Korean food. The menu is primarily labelled in Korean, with the descriptions the only part that's English. Photos of IU and her soju sponsorship on the wall by the stairwell, and conversations in Korean happening all around you by the patrons. Han Guuk Guan isn't trying to impress you, it's just trying to feed you a good meal. Food is homely, and good quality. For less than a $25pp feed between 3 people, we left pretty full. I typically don't like black bean noodles, but I didn't mind HGG's rendition of it. Likewise for the boneless chicken, which I found crunchy, crispy, and finger-licking good. The stew was quickly demolished, along with the bowl of rice.
I really enjoy this place and I think it's the 3rd time this year that I've eaten here, with friends and family. It is consistently good, and I don't think you can tell from the picture, but one portion is extremely generous and is enough to feed 2 or 3 of us unless you have a big appetite, still I think you may be struggling to finish one. I would highly recommend the jajangmyeon and the tang su yuk - those two are my favourites. Overall, very satisfied and might pay my 4th visit this year soon, well done!! p.s. if anyone manages to finish a single serve of jajangmyeon kudos to you
Hidden inside the alleyway and this korean restaurant was truly a hidden gem in city! Food was very delicious, tasted so authentic!
This Korean style Chinese restaurant was one of the best one so far in Melb CBD. I loved the crunchy out and soft inside of the fried meat and loved the noodle soup with great seafood flavour.
Surprisingly good. Cute hidden away place. Try the black bean noodles and the seer and sour pork. HUGE servings.
Hands down the best Korean-Chinese restaurant in Melbourne. Must order the sweet and sour pork and jjajangmyun. Pork was very tender and the batter was crispy and not too thick. The portions of all dishes were very generous. We had to take leftovers in a container. I've been twice in the last couple of months and the quality is consistent. Looking forward to go again soon.
Hidden Korean Chinese style food. Great dishes include jjampong spicy seafood noodles. Jajamyung black bean noodles and fried chicken.Food: 5/5
I was there 25 years ago and was disappointed that I could not find my fav dishes in the menuRecommended dishesBlack Bean Noodles, Sweet and Sour Pork, Black Bean Sauce Noodle
Visited here with my sister about a month ago and we went with zero expectations because of the mixed reviews. We were actually pleasantly surprised. Some dishes only come in one size and you don't have the option of getting a smaller size but putting that aside, the food was pretty decent. The sweet and sour pork was pretty good and didn't have chewy bits that are off putting and had a good ratio of meat to batter. The pieces were so big, we were surprised at the size. The food was better than most jajangmyun places in Sydney. Hopefully the food is consistent as we'd like to visit again to get the combo dishes instead.
