I would like to share my positive experience dealing with Hammond Care, The Glens in Caulfield, during the residency of my late husband.nThe staff were so dedicated, passionate, and extremely professional during this very difficult time in our lives.nMy late husband was treated with the utmost respect, dignity and care at all times. I found the staff to be very compassionate and extremely empathetic towards me as well, which was very comfoting.nI would like to thank all the care staff from the bottom of my heart for all their hard wark and dedication.nnSicerelynRenia Regina Tenen
Update - First of all I want to say thank you to Ami for all her hard work and the way she has responded, I really appreciate it. I also met with Ami & Fiona last year and really appreciate their time and efforts. The renovations make a huge difference to the feel of the place and can see they have made a lot of positive change. I feel the TCP section has been a bit neglected in the past, perhaps because it is a short-term stay. Whilst that can make things a bit difficult it is also an opportunity to create something that really does help people transition to their next place, whether that be full time care, home or even death. I hope to continue to hear good improvements and things about the TCP section of Hammond Care.nnTCP -My Grandmother died from an unstageable pressure ulcer nerves exposed and sepsis. We were unaware of the severity of her wound until she was eventually transfered to hospital despite us asking for earlier transfer-they said they could manage her care better, where she died three days later. Her case went through the Aged Care Commission and Coroner's Court. They worked with the Age Care Commission to make a number of changes. There is still a lot of work to do and I have no way of knowing if these changes have been implemented. Also these reviews go off notes which can be limiting. Place lacks warmth, has inexperienced staff who lack initiative, Lack of presence by management and senior staff. They need to be on the floor.more, guiding staff and creating a better atmosphere. Lack of activities and an Allied Health support. More worried about quality of notes than quality of patient care. Would not want their GP caring for me or my loved ones. Emails I sent regarding issues never replied to or given to coroners court conveniently only supplied an email which said I was happy with the changes they made with Aged Care Commission, they 'forgot' the email I sent with additional ideas for improvements. This email and the emails I sent during her care were not responded to. I have tried to work with them, so positive change does occur but noticed in the process they did twist information to put themselves in better light. I genuinely hope they have improved but based on my experience I recommend not sending your family member here.
I would like to thank Hammond care their staff care givers and anyone involved with the care of my husband Geoff Thomas. The carers were the most giving people you could ask for. Unfortunately my husband passed this week and they looked after myself and Geoff as I stayed with Geoff until his passing. I can't thank you enough and would recommend Hammond Village to anyone looking for somewhere to have there loved one looked after with dignity and care.
I started looking for a place for my husband who had developed dementia, i was sent places that would have been so inappropriate as my husband was not at the stage of being bed bound or needing to be fed. I thought that I would have to have my husband at home with me for good. One of my friends said she volunteered at a place called Hammond care and to go and have a look, I made an appointment and went to visit. I was greeted by the admitting manager who showed me the various houses in the village. What I noticed was the friendliness , the residents knew her and she knew them . People of similar level were in each house and I saw that residents were happy with staff . I was then told not to stress about finances she was very reassuring that every thing would work out and at that point I was not going to look any where else no matter how long it would take for my husband to be admitted.nI find that the staff are so supportive and if I am visiting at any of the meal times I am offered a meal with my husband. The food is cooked fresh and residents come to the kitchen as they would at their home even like folding material napkins and setting tables. I highly recommend Hammond Care for your love ones.
If you love your family member or friends do not take them here. Terrible place , no accountability and no initiative taken.
