Impressive. The fellow who designed these gardens was also the conservator of the Melbourne botanical gardens. His influence is evident in the flowing lawns and beautiful specimen trees.nGorgeous place to wander or sit for a while. There were a few people having picnic lunch when I was there.nLove that the bridge has been rebuilt like the 1920's one.nThe bandstand has it's history recorded and it's worth walking down the North West for the historical elements including an oak planted in 1880.
Very well presented with good amenities, worth the time to look at the many exhibits, we enjoyed the visit
Lovely Botanical Gardens to all through. Gorgeous old trees, well kept lawns. A lovely pond with a bridge to still over .. must come back when the water lilies are flowering. Park and swings for the kids and a few tables and benches for lunch.
Beautiful gardens with some lovely historic aspects.nWe visited in winter when many trees were bare, but the gardens were still lush, green and varied.nHowever, some of the paths are poorly maintained and pose a significant tripping or falling hazard to anyone who, like me, has mobility issues or is unsteady on their feet.
Very beautiful flora and trees, very accessible and ample parking. The cottage garden was especially striking.
